Why Liberals Hate Free Speech

2.... those on the Left do not believe in free speech. They simply do not accept the fundamental principle that people of all opinions ought to be able to express those opinions without being punished for it, or at least hindered to the greatest degree possible in their ability to express themselves.

I'm a dem for decades. Liberals are far to the left of us. I'm not even sure what to call that group anymore but maybe the 4th Reicht? It's true. Go to any website that is even slightly liberal and you will see yourself shut down in a nanosecond if you're not walking lockstep with their rainbow jackboots on each and every topic.

My friend who is into conspiracy theories thinks there is a central controlling group, much like Scientology. An elite nexus of people who keep their thumbs very tightly pressed on subject material "allowed to be discussed". She believes there is a bevy of paid bloggers, funded by the likes of those like Georgo Soros who simply clock in on the internet, make a certain number of posts each day and get paid for "piece work".

They have very clever ways of shutting down topics in more accepting forums. For instance, one of their favorites is the "mock-flame war"...geared to shut down a thread. If a topic they don't like, like this one: Four Supreme Court Justices Summarize How June's Gay-Marriage Decision Was Improper/Illegal | Page 186 | US Message Board - Political Discussion Forum pops up and won't go away, two or more of them will hurl insults at each other grave enough to break board rules, then one of their plants in the moderator board will shut it down.

I notice they just shut down the second thread I tried to start on it.

Your friend may very well have a point.

While it may be true.....it only succeeds because the majority of Americans have been trained to accept whatever they are told by the Leftists who control the press, the schools, and....to an unconscionable degree, the Republican Party.

Have you noticed the numbers of simpletons on this board who, rather than attempt to deny what is documented, simply post versions of 'is not, is not'?

Sadly...we've gone past the tipping point, and are simply basking in the after glow of what was once a great nation.
Both of you are perfectly free to talk your damn fool heads off but if you post right-wing dogma and sound like a paranoid moron on a site with leftist bent, don't expect to be hanging around too long. They've seen more than enough of your kind...

1. "....if you post right-wing dogma and sound like a paranoid moron on a site with leftist bent, don't expect to be hanging around too long..."

What!!!!

You waited almost 400 posts before agreeing with the title of the thread????

Yup: "Liberals Hate Free Speech"

(You put your foot in your mouth again, huh?)

2. "They've seen more than enough of your kind..."

Hey....watch it buster!

You never saw 'my kind' before. I'm one of a kind....and the best you've ever encountered.
Creating these threads .... one of my vanities. I find it satisfying to perform, convivial, competitive, absorbing and even artistic.

What amazes me is that poets don't rush home, unpack their pens, and write odes....paeans.... to my posts!

I’m kind of surprised I’m not an action figure by now.
I fully support free speech. I'm a liberal, we invented it. Most are not like me.

Its not just free speech liberals hate, they feel no need to obey the law or the courts either. Todays example, Oregon liberals took it upon themselves to BAN gold suction dredging in the state including on Federal land. Courts have repeatedly told states they don't have the power to do this. Courts have repeatedly thrown out the liberals lie filled lawsuits claiming the activity harms fisheries which has been proven patently false again and again. Liberals don't care, they just keep passing unlawful restrictions and bans knowing it will take at least a few years for them to work their way through the courts before they are overturned.

California being filled with some of the most blatant lowlife lying scum liberals on the planet after they lost their last court case and their 4 year ban was ruled unlawful, then claimed they didn't have the money to issue the dredging permits thus effectively banning dredging again.

Its simple, these liberal pukes must be destroyed, you can't compromise with these lawless freaks.

And....no...I never lie.
Since you are unable to discern the truth from a lie, I'm sure in your mind that is true. The best liars are those who have no idea that's what they're doing only you are a much sadder case, limited to, by a lack of IQ and education, cutting and pasting the lies of others...

So.....why have you never been able to produce any such "lies"???
I can't honestly remember anything you've ever posted that wasn't a lie but cut and paste something in here and I'll show you the lies of others that you can truth.

Nah...you're both a liar and the sort of 'Liberal' that Dewey produced when he changed the name of the Socialist Party to 'Liberal.'

I love smashing this custard pie in your kisser:

"Norman Thomas, a socialist and member of the American Civil Liberties Union, boldly told the world: "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
Why Our Schools Teach Socialism -- September 2001 Education Reporter

And now you are reduced to producing an "is not, is nooottttttttt!" post.
Go ahead.

And there we have it, a flat out lie: Norman Thomas on Socialism

"As far as we know, the closest connection yet found between Norman Thomas and the substance of the words attributed to him is something that was written to (not by) him, a 1951 letter from Upton Sinclair, the noted American author best known for his 1906 muckraking novelThe Jungle, who twice (unsuccessfully) ran for Congress on the Socialist ticket and (also unsuccessfully) ran for the governorship of California as a Democrat in 1934:

"The American People will take Socialism, but they won't take the label. I certainly proved it in the case of EPIC. Running on the Socialist ticket I got 60,000 votes, and running on the slogan to 'End Poverty in California' I got 879,000. I think we simply have to recognize the fact that our enemies have succeeded in spreading the Big Lie. There is no use attacking it by a front attack, it is much better to out-flank them."

I vote we keep a few in zoos and museums as a cautionary tale.

FYI:

"But did Thomas ever make this statement? Although these words have been attributed to him for several decades, apparently no one has ever been able to turn up a source documenting that he actually said or wrote them, whether it was in 1944 (as claimed in the above-quoted example) or in 1927 (as Ronald Reagan asserted) or at any other time. In 2003, for example, Reagan biographer Lou Cannon noted that:
[Reagan's] assertion that the United States was sliding into socialism by degrees [was] a notion fashionable among conservatives in the 1960s. Reagan often used quotations or paraphrases from Karl Marx or modern socialists to make this point; a favorite line was this supposed prediction of Norman Thomas, who ran for president on the Socialist ticket for six consecutive elections through 1948: "Thomas said that the American people would never knowingly vote for socialism; but under the guise of liberalism, they would adopt every fragment of the socialist platform until one day America would be Socialist without knowing how it came about." This is a suspect quotation, and Reagan gave no reference for it.
Cannon elaborated in a footnote to this passage that:
If Thomas said this, I have been unable to find evidence of it, and Reagan told me in 1968 that he did not know its origins."

1. Actually the lie is yours.
The article does not claim that he didn't say it.

2. It does attribute the same meaning of the quote to his friend and fellow Socialist...you know, like you....Upton Sinclair, in a correspondence between Sinclair and Thomas.

3. Reagan biographer Lou Cannon noted that this was a suspect quotation, and that he could find no evidence of it. Thomas did say that both major political parties had borrowed items from the Socialist Party platform.

Gotcha?

"Why Liberals Hate Free Speech"

Ben Carson wants government to punish universities for speech he disagrees with and liberals "hate" free speech - such is the idiocy of the thread premise.

Punish?

You dope....read the Constitution....the federal government has no authority to fund any university.

You really should take some law courses, C_Chamber_Pot.

What you posted, a quote of something a man did not say, is a lie, but I bet you keep posting it. When you post something someone did not say, you're lying. Now you know.

BTW, honest people don't post what can't be shown to be true, like a false quote, once it's been pointed out to them. Post a Sanger quote you like, and that's probably a lie as well.

When you can't prove that a man actually said something, you are now allowed to post that he did, and if you do, you are lying. That's how it works. You have to be able to prove someone actually said something, not ask others to prove that he didn't.

An example, Donald Trump said, "Hillary Clinton would be a far better president than I ever could be so I urge you to vote for her, not me". Now, prove he didn't say that and if you can't then it's true (at least you believe so)...

Gads, you're a dope.

Article 1, section 8 lists the only things the federal government has the authority to do.

Go ahead...borrow a copy of the Constitution....look for any funding of education.....on any level.

OK....I'll educate you:

1. Our Founders envisioned the states as laboratories of democracy and enshrined into our Constitution the principle of federalism. Under federalist principles, the American people endowed the national government with a defined set of limited, enumerated powers in the Constitution. Any powers beyond those specifically given to the federal government fall entirely within the province of the states. Federalism protects liberty by protecting against the overreaching of any one branch of our federal government, and is part of the uniquely American system of checks and balances.
Paloma Zepeda, "Reinventing the Right."

2. The idea that the reach of the federal government would be restricted to a few enumerated powers is articulated by Madison in Federalist No. 45:

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite."

You're busted, huh?

What you posted, a quote of something a man did not say, is a lie, but I bet you keep posting it. When you post something someone did not say, you're lying. Now you know.

Where does you link say he didn't say it?

It doesn't.

You're fibbing again.
I, on the other hand, never lie.

Hey....look at this, you Socialist:

Norman Mattoon Thomas > Quotes > Quotable Quote
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”

Norman Mattoon Thomas
A quote by Norman Mattoon Thomas
And yet again, you continue to lie even after it's been pointed out that no one can prove the man actually said this.

But no one says he didn't say it...

Then, there's this, which supports the quote:

"In the organ for Fabian Socialists in the United States, the "American Fabian" magazine, the following is written about Edward Bellamy:(June, 1898)

In Bellamy, social science and imagination were combined at their best. He has given us a substantial revelation whose scientific deductions from economic phenomena are unassailable. In the work of speeding the light he has made the valued distinction between Nationalism and Socialism. Nations advance toward their destiny upon lines marked out by the temper of their peoples, the character of their institutions, the conditions of soil, climate, and surroundings. Consequently the forward movement must be by national rather than international pathways.Bellamy saw this clearly, and formulatinghis Socialismto a purely American applicability, named it Nationalism. What has been the result? We hear no more the philistine cry that Socialism is an alien product. The far-reaching influence of "Looking Backward" has given us a native development of this definite form of Socialism, and has made possible the realization of his dreams in the near future.

Now this is an interesting concept. Tyranny has been Americanized - even if it's largely in title only. For those of you who don't know who Edward Bellamy was, he was(besides the obvious mentions above in this glowing eulogy - a nationalist-socialist) the ideological head of so called 'Nationalist Clubsaround the states, and he was also associatedwith the Fabianstoward the end of his life.

This does in a way back up the Thomas quote, in that this is what socialists and progressives do, they always do it and they keep doing it. They re-name themselves and their efforts in order to be more palatable even though it's largely the same thing. They'll do full scale people laundering if they have to."
progressingamerica: Did Norman Thomas really say that America would not knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of

Again?
"...This does in a way back up the Thomas quote, in that this is what socialists and progressives do, they always do it and they keep doing it. They re-name themselves and their efforts in order to be more palatable...."

So....you're a socialist after all.

I love doing this!
