Why should politicians allow ‘birthright citizenship’ and the 14th to remain as is? Do Americans or does America benefit from birthright citizenship?

Illegal immigrants cost us BILLIONS every year. I dont care how hard they work. They can work their asses back to wherever they came from as far as im concerned.
Myth

Illegals work for substandard wages with no benefits
Their employers make a fortune off of them
We get less expensive food and services because of illegals

Did our founders intend to screw Americans? Why would they frame an Amendment in such a way? Isn’t the 14th and the birthright citizenship clause the only clause and Amendment that does screw Americans?

“People have this notion that you have a child in the United States, now you’re a citizen. It’s what people think because it’s the easy way to explain it. So it’s an easy way to make up a myth,” said David Leopold, an immigration attorney and former president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

In fact, a US citizen must be 21 years old before they can sponsor their parents for a green card. They also must be able to financially support their parents.

Parents who were not inspected and admitted into the US face even more obstacles to changing their immigration status: with limited exceptions, they have to go abroad as part of the legalization process and then often aren’t allowed back into the US for 10 years.

Even if parents do get a green card, they have a five-year holding period before they can finally apply for naturalization.

In the end, the so-called “anchor baby” pathway to citizenship is at least a 26-year endeavor, even for those who entered the US legally.

“It’s ludicrous to think that that’s some sort of a tactic that people use to come here, get citizenship, ’cause it just isn’t true,” said Leopold. “It’s a myth, and it’s a specious talking point.”

The Russians and Chinese make anchor babies, who can bring in their "family" (spy?) members.
We need an amendment/law that only a US citizen can make a US citizen, repeal the 14th.
The 14th Amendment is now a problem, not a solution.
I see you have never read the 14th amendment.

"Anchor babies" is a made up term to trigger bigots.
I didn't think you were that stupid.

The 14th Amendment birthright citizenship was designed to protect freed slaves.
It was not designed to give citizenship to the offspring of people who violated our immigration laws.

No it was not. Senators who debated this knew that this meant that all babies born in the US would be Americans.

When the 14th was written the US was growing and wanted new citizens.
The writers could not envision America's enemies flying in pregnanent women to drop anchor and make a US citizen, and then use that baby's citizenship to gain entry for America's enemies.
Did they tell you that personally?

There is no such thing as an "anchor baby." Anyone born in the US is a US citizen, but that does NOT change the immigration status of the citizen's parents.

It does not screw Americans. It screws racists like you.

They probably did not think about that at all. Two-thirds of NY were immigrants in the 1860s, and the Irish were popping babies out like popcorn.
Were American taxpayers spoon feeding / funding the Irish and Chinese? Were American taxpayers FORCED to pay for education and healthcare for the Irish and Chinese? Were the Irish and Chinese maiming, raping and murdering real Americans at an off the charts rate? Were the Irish and Chinese over-flowing our jails and prisons? We’re they destroying every community, city and state they inhabited?
Do you see the clear difference between immigrants of old and Mexicans?
Why do you love parasites / cockroaches?

there is no exclusion for children born of legal or illegal immigrants in the constitution, yet they did write in the 14th amendment in the constitution the EXCLUSION of children born to diplomats and children born to American Indians, because these children were NOT under our government's jurisdiction.

Their intent to include all children born on our soil is clear, with the two exceptions, which is clear as well.

Children born to unauthorized immigrants has gone down each year since 2007...

In 2007 There were over 390,000 births each year to illegal immigrants.... In 2016, the last year with available numbers, there were 250,000 children born to illegal immigrants each year. Out of 4,000,000 children born each year here.
