Certainly, Joe Biden is no security threat. He has had security clearances since the Civil War, and the chances that he would use information gained today to compromise U.S. interests are nil. He probably won't even remember what is told to him for more than 15 minutes.
On the other hand, the idea that not briefing Biden compromises U.S. security is tinfoil-hat delusion. If he is kept completely in the dark for now he could be fully briefed the day before Inauguration Day and life would go on.
But here's my guess at why Trump is balking at making Biden and his crew privy to what's going on: Trump is planning one or two dramatic moves and doesn't want interference, second guessing, or leaks to the NYT. He may fully withdraw all troops from Afghanistan. He may do the same in Syria, or have a big draw-down in Germany or South Korea. Maybe something in the Holy Land.
Regardless, not briefing Biden is a non-issue, elevated to a pearl-clutching crisis by Leftist toadies in the Media.
Donald J. Trump is still our President, and will be so for at least another 2 months, maybe 50. Deal with it.
