why was nixon pardoned?

that little break in just didn't make any sense at all.

Nixon didn't commit the crime, he just tried to cover it up.
i don't think anyone believes nixon donned a plumber's coveralls and joined e howard hunt and the boys in the burglary.

they were his people, and, well, i guess manson didn't really murder anyone either.

but wouldn't the cover up be presumed to be an "official duty?"

nixon, as all presidents, was always immune from prosecution, and in fact, had sent hunt, liddy and the others into the watergaste as an official duty.
"and in fact, had sent hunt, liddy and the others into the watergaste"...lol
...you obviously get your "facts" from the media, Nixon had no knowledge of the break-in.
what did nixon do that required a pardon?
It was not determined that he did anything, he was accused of covering up a crime after the fact [hemce the phrase 'what did the president know and when did he know it?' was born]which is/was not part of his official duties...
...a pardon guaranteed this would not follow him into private life after he left office...watergate was the kickoff for subverting the will of the voter that we still see today...Nixon won such an enormous landslide victory that the media was forced to step in.
