will there now be a political cost for violent images

I dont think many of on that list will exact any political cost to a candidate.

violent ones will and ther is not going to be a list.

it will be reflected in votes.

It is really cool that it works like it does.

with all the rants on both sides about what it means nothing can convince the opposite side what you pretend they dont really believe.

When the rubber meets the road NO ONE , neither side, will benifit in a political way for continuing to use such language.

I really think this is going to end up being the case.

It gave me some real hope when it occured to me.

Yes.....the use of the following words, phrases, and images will be considered hate-speech:

War-room, number one with a bullet, fire, fire-stick, bang bang, conflict, attack, target, cross-hairs, enemy, hostage-takers, ricochet, bust a cap in your ass, gun, weapon, defeat, shooter computor games, gunman, gunwoman, gunny, accidental discharge, bring a gun to a knife-fight, shoot the shit, drinking shooters, shoot from the hip, give em both barrels, reload, gun show, report, crossfire, firefight, jumping the gun, Colt 45, the right to bare arms, she/he must be loaded, fire extinguisher, recoil, magazine, cartridge, casing, barrel, trigger, sniper, combatant, shoot your wad, arms, ammunition, and anything Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, or Glenn Beck say.

:flameth::FIREdevil::banana2::Boom2::eusa_angel:

No, Mud, sarah and glen and rush are not the victims.

Giffords and 19 other are the victims.

Any who mix this up are either morally or mentally demented.

I know it means nothing to you that a democratic rep was targeted.

I understand that , I understand to you it means nothing.

That doesnt matter now.

Its in the ether.

A violent image will NO LONGER have a good impact on campaign numbers.

What you try to pin on me dosent matter.

It is now in the cultural memory.

Its part of the American collective mind.

No one will want their (OK very few) candidate to use this stuff because it will take the discussion places that dont help the candidate..

its over, its done.

Those that persist in using this imagery will pay a price because NO ONE wants to think about this discussion.

It will be a losing tactic.

man I just keep making myself feel better.

The best part is it is VERY likely excactly what the atmosphere will be for quite some time to come.

good gawd, sick shit.

That's right, Stephanie. Sick imagery will result in a drop in voter share. That's sick it is so good.

for crying out loud, kick the broken RECORD already

If you remember I warned of this type of violence by a nutter months ago.

so what?....who do you think you are now Mrs. Nostradamus?...i can say right now that sooner or later another fruit cake will flip out and shoot some people.....there....now when it does happen....dont say i did not warn ya.....

would you just cry and get it over with.....:eusa_eh:

The cry besides the true grief for Giselle and the other victims will be the far right pwns who backed Sarah. Her presidential ambitions, if not her entire career, has been shattered by the confluence of the shootings and the campaign poster.

Why cry, less violent speech is good for all of us.

Its called a civil debate.

where in there did I try to convince you it did?

I beg to differ with you , I think this is a game changer momment.

I dont think this will be a useful tactic anymore.

All this fighting about it has made some headway.

I think it will give some solace to the vitims of this horrible incident.

I think it will make their path of grief a little softer.

I am really begining to feel much better about my country this momment

You're trying your damnest to blame political imagery on the shooting. You are wrong.

The really sad thing is this statement shows how very little attention you pay to what is actually said.

I understand what you say perfectly . . . you politicized this tragedy and try to somehow pin it on the right.

You, however, understand nothing.

I have said that the gunman caused this.

Yes, he did.

I have also said that words and images matter and can influence people and crazy people are easily influenced.

Yes they can but did not in this instance, despite your endless attempts to spin it that way.

I cant help that you do not want to understand anything I say.

I have no control over what you understand.

^ ^ babbling

warned MONTHS ago that some nutter would be influenced by the sharp tone and violent images, I begged for people to talk like adults.

Overall statement? Peachy. The bolded? Try to get this through your head . . . this nutter was not influenced by sharp tones or violent images, no matter how much you try to spin it differently. (You never did bother to answer hjmick's question on this. Typical TruthMangler m.o). Loughner is mentally unstable (did you ever bother to read the Time link/info I posted?) and that is what caused him to go postal.

You dont believe it influences anyone then fine.

I get to think what I want and have thought this for many years.

In the end it doesnt matter what either of us think personally.

The reality is this whole discussion is now pretty much history and every time someone puts a gun barrel site image or a target anywhere near another candidate the person will lose vote share.

the people have had these images seared into their memories with this incident.

^ ^ more babbling

It is no longer a winning tactic no matter how much you dont want that to be true

Go get the violent images and sharp tones that Jared Loughner saw and heard that caused him to go postal.

What part of this do you not get? I know Keith and Ed originally tried to pin this on the right and that you ran with that. Now that the Tea Party and Palin and Rush and . . . whoever else on the right has been shown to not be the cause of this nutbar going off, you just can't seem to let it go. Why? Because you're nothing but a partisan hack. Proof of that?

I know it means nothing to you that a democratic rep was targeted.

No one but you gives a crap that she's a Dem.

In its OP, truthdoesn'tmattertoheratall asks the stupid question, "will there now be a political cost for violent images?"

The answer, obviously, is "yes:"

We will have to listen to more of truthdoesn'tmattertoheratall's prattling bullshit whining.

and its starting to make me cry.....:(....oh shit here it comes....

guys , it doesnt matter Anymore.

the debate has changed and gun referances will not win you big votes.

try if you like but the result will not be worth the insistance on using them.

I just domnt undersstand why you guys feel this great need to use them?

Political imagery is, of course, part of the mileu, the back drop, of what happened. To discount the negative effect that imagery now has on many, if not most, if not the great majority, of Americans would be a sad marketing decision.

You are full of shit. and NOBODY is BUYING what you all are selling.
but keep digging

Sarah victimized herself, no one else did, with that campaign image.

Sorry Jake. As soon as the shootings happened the left feverishly looked for straws to grasp at to blame whomever their enemies were.

Didn't matter a damned whether it made any sense at all.

Maybe you might want to tone it down a bit. I was just being facetious. You're serious. That's fucken sick.

LOL, pass the barf bag.

there is no more gain to be found for those who use this type of tactic

that is good for all of us.

Its time for all of us to be a little more respectful of each other.

You are not sensible then if you truly believe that. Watch the polls over the next week, watch the careful crafting of campaigns and imagery, and watch the great majority of America turn its collective back on violent imagery.

What will be positive is that the Tea Party members in Congress don't have to listen to the loons on the far right, and they will be edging bit by bit to the center.
