Hey Stupid!!! Thanksgiving isn't under attack. Trump made that up.

As a secular with no connection to religion, Thanksgiving is the ONE holiday that ALL Americans of every faith, race and creed love, even if it does mean spending time with family members like you who are idiots. The Thanksgiving weekend is the biggest travel weekend of the year, and a holiday all Americans love.

Along comes the Divider in Chief, with FAUX News in tow, trying to divide the American people and create fear and paranoia where none exists, by creating a phony "War on Thanksgiving". This is even dumber than the phony War on Christima. And the right wing loons are parrotting this idiocy.

My post has nothing to do with Trump and was not aware he made such a statement. My take is on the people who feel compelled to emphasize the negative origins of Thanksgiving - real or imagined. In my liberal county in Maryland, the local elementary svho banned the celebration at school.

No, your intent is to propagate a ridiculous lie and hasty generalization fallacy – what happened in one school is ‘representative’ of nothing and no one – ‘liberals’ in particular.

Show me where a Conservative has attacked American Holidays by seeking them to be renamed or abolished? I’ll show you intent where it is Liberals seeming to change American Holidays.

And again you're lying. No one is changing the name of anything. It is FOX News and conservatives who are constantly looking for some grievance to stoke so they can claim victimhood, and show how evil liberals are for acknowledging and showing respect for others.

Again, why are YOU stoking hate and phony grievances? Oh yeah. That's what Donald Trump wants. Just because his family hates him and no one wants to spend Thanksgiving with him, he's trying to spoil the holiday for the rest of you.

Don’t say “no one” is trying to change the name when I showed you a school in Maryland doing just that. This did not come from Fox or Trump.... it came from Montgomery County, MD. Further, the name change at the school for the event was spurred because someone felt victimized that the Thanksgiving celebration was taking place. How is myself calling this out stoking hate? It’s intolerance on the part of the family that made the stink about it because they don’t like it. It is concerning because the the reaction was to appease and capitulate to an intolerant minority voice that does not feel the event should be celebrated. You keep trying to shift the hate sticker on to

I notice that "Thanksgiving" is listed in the school calendar. I googled news stories about Thanksgiving, because for sure if this happened, there would be a story of outrage in the local paper, and:

Back in 1966 a certain teacher brought that same message about The Pilgrims first years to her class of 3rd graders.

She asked the class if they thought people really would act that way.

They said "no". People aren't like that at all.

So she took the next step.

For 2 school weeks gave quizzes as usual and graded each student as usual so they saw what they had earned. But then, together, they averaged all the scores and everybody got the same grade instead of the one penciled on their papers. Yup, the "earned" scores were erased and replaced with the "common" scores. Some loved it. Some didn't like it.

About the fourth day the scores (individual and common) were falling and fewer were happy....even those with low individual scores...because the common scores were going rapidly to Hell.

Halfway into the second week the kids, asked if they wanted to continue, dropped it like a hot french-fry (they didn't understand what actual "potatos" are).

She was pressured never to do that again.

She didn't.

She left teaching and got into private industry, expediting international shipments. For more money, better benefits and fewer actual working hours.

Would any indoctrinated teacher even think to try that now? Let alone dare!

If you hate socialism so much you should stop using our roads and don't ever call the fire dept or the police dept if you need help.

I think LIMITED Socialism has a significant role in a Capitalist Society and that we do a good job of that here in the US. I maintain that Socialism cannot usurp or compromise Capitalism because we then become yet another failed Socialist state like so many others around the globe.
