Women leaving Repub voting ranks in droves

The fragile gains Republicans had been making among female voters have been erased, a shift that has coincided with what has become a national shouting match over reproductive issues, potentially handing President Obama and the Democrats an enormous advantage this fall.

This hardly qualifies as news.

Which leaves only two questions: what on earth are republicans thinking?

And, has the GOP mainstream lost complete control of the radical right, that they’d be allowed to run utterly amuck?

Weird stuff huh? At least they're consistent.

I've never heard a 'fragile gain' called a drove before. Must be the libetral definition

It hasn't happened yet but H.R. 358 which passed the House and is now in the Senate:

Si just spanked you on that very link, try paying attention.

First of all, that's a new link.

Secondly, I don't see any comment from Si on any link I've posted.

Then you need to go back through.

But you stated from 2010 and post a 2011

Can you try a bit harder please.

???

How does letting a woman die in the hospital in order to avert an abortion relate to fiscal discipline and accountability?

where has that happened?

No, it does not do that. TPM may have told you it does, but they lied.

You need to stop letting folks think for you.

And, go straight to the horse's mouth. (I recall learning that in kindergarten. But, school qualities do differ.)

3/17/2011--Reported to House amended, Part I. Protect Life Act - Amends the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to prohibit federal funds from being to used to cover any part of the costs of any health plan that includes coverage of abortion services. (Currently, federal funds cannot be used for abortion services and plans receiving federal funds must keep federal funds segregated from any funds for abortion services.) Requires any qualified health benefit plan offered through an Exchange that includes coverage for abortions to also offer a qualified health benefit plan through the Exchange that is identical in every respect except that it does not cover abortions. Prohibits a federal agency or program and any state or local government that receives federal financial assistance under PPACA from requiring any health plan created or regulated under PPACA to discriminate against any institutional or individual health care entity based on the entity's refusal to undergo training in the performance of induced abortions, require or provide such training, or refer for such training. Creates a cause of action for any violations of the abortion provisions of PPACA. Gives federal courts jurisdiction to prevent and redress actual or threatened violations of such provisions by issuing any form of legal or equitable relief, including injunctions and orders preventing the disbursement of all or a portion of federal financial assistance until the prohibited conduct has ceased. Gives standing to institute an action to affected health care entities and the Attorney General. Requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to designate the Director of the Office for Civil Rights of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to receive and investigate complaints alleging a violation of PPACA abortion provisions. Requires the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to ensure that no multistate qualified health plan offered in an Exchange provides coverage of abortion services.

so there is a bill that would allow women to die than perform a abortion..

You really should read the bill. It says no such thing.

House Passes H.R. 358, the "Let Women Die" Act of 2011 | RH Reality Check

H.R. 358 further allows health care entities--hospitals, clinics--to refuse to "participate in" abortion care. This could mean that a hospital employee with no medical training or role in a patient’s treatment decisions could refuse to process bills, handle medical records, or even set up an examination room for a patient seeking abortion care.

And finally, it overrides protections for pregnant women under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act. EMTALA was enacted in 1986 to ensure public access to emergency services regardless of ability to pay, including women in active labor. Under EMTALA, hospitals must stabilize a pregnant patient who, for example, is facing an emergency obstetric condition or life-threatening pregnancy and either treat her--including an emergency abortion--or if the hospital or staff objects, to transfer her to another facility that will treat her.

Between Rush and Santorum, it comes as a surprise to me that any woman would stay with the GOP.
Let's see why this one is: She won't consider Santorum because he doesn't represent her views. She doesn't listen to Rush and doesn't care what some radio jock says. She cannot stand the fact that this current POTUS is waging war on the Constitution. And, she knows that abortion, contraception, etc. are wedge issues with no meaning, and that the First Amendment must not be allowed to be blasphemed by this POTUS.

War on the constitution? Yea, because Obama wants everyone to be able to vote. But the constitution says you must have a photo ID. Ask Republican scholars. They'll tell you. And they can tell you why you why there is not separation between church and state. And why education is for "snobs".

The right wing represents a narrow view. Many in the base only knows the party is 90% white and that's all the care to know. Nothing else matters.

Where does the constitution say I need to present a photo I.D to buy a gun? If I can't buy a gun because I don't have I.D, haven't my rights been infringed upon?

House Passes ?Protect Life Act,? Controversial Anti-Abortion Funding Bill [VIDEO] - International Business Times

The bill, HR 385, prohibits women who are under the Affordable Care Act to purchase health insurance plans that cover abortion, even though most health insurance plans do in fact cover abortions.

It also makes it legal for hospitals, such as those who may find abortions morally objectionable, to deny abortions to pregnant women with life-threatening conditions. Current law requires hospitals to give a patient whatever care they need in life-threatening situations, but the Protect Life Act relieves hospitals of their medical obligations.

...and this brings us back to... :

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politic...publican-leaders-are-afraid-of-rush-limbaugh/
ABC’s George Will told me Sunday on “This Week” that GOP leaders have steered clear of harshly denouncing Limbaugh’s comments because “Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh.”
“[House Speaker John] Boehner comes out and says Rush’s language was inappropriate. Using the salad fork for your entrée, that’s inappropriate. Not this stuff,” Will said. “And it was depressing because what it indicates is that the Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh. They want to bomb Iran, but they’re afraid of Rush Limbaugh.”

Boehner (R) & Romney (R) will pay for their tepid responses down the road ;)
