Why even keep them if you treat them like this?

I don't keep my bunny like that. She gets the run of the house. She nibbles on everything, but oh well, that's how bunnies are. You have to put up with some destruction.

Bunnies are quite social, given the chance. Mine will run circles around me, annoy the cats, THUMP an alarm if she hears a hawk calling outside, and even occasionally "binky" (jump up and twist around, the sign of a happy bunny). Putting them in a small cage leaves them depressed and antisocial. They need room to run and hop.

My puppy, Muffin would. She LOVES to chase bunnies. I took her to the baylands in Palo Alto several times, and once I let her go. It didn't take her long to flush out a bunny from the reeds, and she chased it for a couple hundred yards. I was out of breath by the time I caught up with her.

I raised some years ago. I let them run around the house. They're clean animals. I sold them when I went into the Army.
