Yet Another Toddler Accidentally Shot And Killed His Mother

Everytown?

If they say 69 incidents, the true number is very likely to be 20 or less.

Why would you doubt it? Seems like we hear about these stories regularly. The story of the gun activist woman being shot in the back by her child while driving is still really fresh.
Gun enthusiast mom shot in back by 4yo son
They want to perpetuate the specious image of guns as benign objects. The more people see guns as an inherent danger, the weaker their feeble argument for more guns on the streets. Their zeal for a totally armed society blinds them to facts. And it makes them myopic to the central fact that if there was no gun present, no one would be shot.

Can you say something more stupid ?

Please try....it's gonna be hard.
Can you make a point?

Seems you are the one delusional about needing a certain caliber.
Call your local sheriffs department and ask them what their primary issue weapon is, then ask them why they don't use .22's… LOL

Cops don't like ammo which bounces off balloons.

Sure, shoot yourself in the chest with a .22 then.

You going to do it? So far you have done nothing to prove your claim of needing a certain caliber.

Brain357- do you own guns, do you hunt?

A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his mother on Tuesday while she was driving in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It adds to a growing list of accidental shootings by toddlers.

Patrice Price, 26, was driving her security guard boyfriend’s car on Highway 175 when the 2-year-old fatally shot her in the back with a single bullet.

At least 69 children aged 17 and younger had picked up a gun and accidentally shot someone so far this year, according to data from gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety, issued before this latest tragedy. At least 265 kids were responsible for accidental shootings in 2015.

Could this be classified as the survival of the fittest? If you put your kid in the backseat of a car with a loaded gun maybe you aren't fit to be a parent. What sort of law can you pass to make people more responsible?

Smart guns.
You stick with your smart guns, I'll stick the ones that work... Lol

A smart gun would have worked fine for you so far. Definitely would have been better for the woman in the OP.

But will a smart gun save a dumb person? Sometimes dumb can't be mitigated.

Isn't that the law of natural selection ?

A woman leaves a gun where kid can get at it ????

Really ?

They should probably gas her siblings.

I'm still trying to figure out the point of the OP.

No one with any sort of common sense and intelligence whatsoever would depend on the 22 Long rifle cartridge for self-defense...
Show me a link where they recommend a 22 Long rifle for self-defense, if they do they themselves should be shot for stupidity.... Lol

You're a deeply stupid man. The 22 round is one of the most lethal rounds available to the public today. The rounds low velocity is the reason why.
Lol

Even more proof that you're a deeply stupid man. And it shows.
Then why don't cops carry pistols chambered for .22LR?

For personal protection silly. The rounds small size plus low velocity means no through and through, so the round hits every major organ in your body by the time it finally stops moving.

My Personal preference is for the 5 shot hammer less 38. Small and still packs a punch.

A hollow point means no through and through
And cops don't use their pistols for personal protection?

If a .22 is so good why carry a .38?

I'll take my Springfield .45 XDS with the 3 in barrel over a .38

So you have shot in defense now?

Yes, every soldier who had to go to handgun to defend his position has and i know of no military that uses 22 as their standard sidearm caliber. There is a reason for that.

Case closed. Your 22 argument is sophomoric at best.

Now you are talking military? Because self defense is the same as a war? Now that is sophomoric.
Lol yeah, from what i've read of your stuff you would say that. How very predictable. Regardless, so sorry, you lose. Now go grab a yoohoo from the fridge in your moms basement so you can cry in it.

Lose? Nobody has given a single valid reason caliber matters for defense. How many times has caliber saved your life so far?

REally anyone's? ever? Then tell me why do about 70% of cops carry a Glock 22 that fires a .40 S&W?

Give me an example.

Cops aren't doing self-defense. They are apprehending criminals.

But caliber doesn't matter. So why don't cops carry .22s? If it's good enough for you to stop someone it should be good enough for everyone

The reason they do not carry .22s is that they have insufficient stopping power

Give examples of failed defense due to .22 then.

I don't have that data and neither do you but law enforcement agencies do not think a .22 round is sufficient for the defense of their agents and officers
Case Closed: FBI Says 9mm Is The Best Pistol Round - Grand View Outdoors

They are the experts here not you

So you don't know any case where it wasn't enough. Thanks.

Neither do you.

But then again you are not an expert are you? You probably think you know more than the majority of cops and the FBI when it comes to pistols

You have never fired a shot in defense so it doesn't really matter.

That is a meaningless question.

You do know that many cops go their entire careers and never shoot anyone so I guess you think they they are wrong to carry 9mm and .40 caliber and they should instead be carrying .22s

Yes.

Can you legally hunt an elk with a 22, or a deer for that matter? BTW- you can't in Colorado where I live. Any idea why?

You are comparing self defense to stopping and capturing criminals. It is a moronic comparison. In defense you can pull your gun and let the criminal walk away. That is not an option for police. Criminals don't want to be shot, they will walk away regardless of caliber.

When was the last time an elk tried to rob you? And do they understand the threat of being shot?

Where do they state a .22 won't work for defense? Most people never need a gun period. Of those that do almost none ever need to shoot. For that tiny fraction of a percent that do shoot a .22 will work fine. Most are more accurate with a .22.

Bottom line, when you shoot, you shoot to kill. Higher caliber has more killing power. You are arguing on a sinking ship...jump off.

Never, how is that relevant? Are only those who have shot in self defense qualified to have an opinion on the topic? How many times have you shot in self defense?
