The worldā€™s first period of industrial growth of chickens and eggs for mass consumption began in Israelā€™s Judean lowlands of Lachish some 2,300 years ago ā€“ 200 years before the practice reached Europe ā€“ researchers at the University of Haifa announced on Tuesday.
