Some folks are always complaining about the needy and less fortunate getting government benefits and assistance. But, we rarely ever hear those same people complain about tax dollars spent outside this country.

'Sheer Stupidity': U.S. Spent $43M on This Gas Station But Can't Explain Why

Nearly $43 million of U.S. taxpayers' money was spent on building a gas station in Afghanistan — 140 times more than it should have cost, according to a government watchdog.

............ a contract for just under $3 million was awarded to a company called Central Asian Engineering in 2011. According to SIGAR, an economic impact assessment found the task force spent well beyond that —$42,718,730 — between 2011 and 2014 to fund the station's construction and supervise its initial operation.

****** Now, how many of those that complain about tax dollars spent here at home to help the poor, elderly, needy, less fortunate, Vets, and children, will complain about this waste of tax dollars?

too much...that is the problem we are trying to pay for a peace in the middle east....but peace will not make either side money....now will it?

Of course they can't explain it. It went in their pockets.

utside of Israel, from 1946-2010, the U.S. gave Egypt the most money, $114 billion, with Iraq next at $59 billion. Pakistan, at $52 billion, and Afghanistan at $49 billion round out the Top 5 U.S. aid recipients in the region.

Other countries receiving more than $1 billion over those same 65 years include Iran at $13 billion, Lebanon at $3.4 billion, Syria at $2.2 billion, and Yemen at $2.1 billion. Bahrain also received $538 million in U.S. said over that same time period.

On a per capita basis, the contrast of U.S. aid to Israel compared to other nearby nations grows even sharper. According to Factsandlogic.org, the U.S. gives Israel $378 per capita, with Afghanistan and Egypt receiving $63 and $17 per capita, respectively. Other aid recipients in the region, Pakistan and Nigeria, each receive about $5 per capita.

How many will complain?
Hopefully all real conservatives.
Social welfare spending is often only mentioning 'welfare' but we all hate wasted Fed money overseas, as well.
We suggest pulling fed money from foreign countries all the time. Especially those that act against us.

This particular $42M, if I were to hazard a guess, is probably comprised, mostly, of 'grease' money....all the pay-offs and bribes plus, of course, the usual embezzlement

as a country we try to nation build....its impossible....the middle east is in worse condition now after how many trillions of dollars?
