And we are still dealing wh it's affects today ! Even gas attacks !

After Ww1 the west decided to hack up the old Ottoman Empire . Cause that's what imperialists do . Thanks to the French and Brits hack job the Mid East has been fucked up since .

Happy anniversary!

Aristocracies collapsed. Democracy blossomed, grew, and spread.

But you go ahead and whine, dipshit.

The Middle East will eventually have to go through the same paroxysms of violence and war Europe did before it can complete its transition to democracy. Sadly, just as with Europe, there is no way to avoid a great deal of bloodshed during the transition.

The United States has to decide just how much we want to be involved in that process.

1. gas attacks were the result of advancements in technology. We would be facing the potential of chemical warfare had there been a World War 1 or not.

2. The Ottoman Empire was never a stable state in the first place.

3. At the end of that war the various local ethnic groups had rebelled against the heavy handed rule of the Young Turks that had taken over the Ottoman Empire. The West merely recognized the new realities in the Middle East.

During the Cold War, we didn't have much choice.
