I am training my six year old granddaughter now with a pellet gun. As soon as she is ready in a couple of years we will move up to a real firearm.

Probably not as a usual practice. HOWEVER, all children need to learn gun safety in school, especially if they live in homes where the parents do not have firearms at home. When they grow up, they may decide to exercise their rights, or they may run across guns in their travels to schools or church or the store, whatever.

Time IMHO, to mandate age appropriate gun safety classes starting in kindergarten up through the penitentiary level.

I have gone hog hunting with my Class III full auto M-16, with an AR-15, with an AR-10, with an SKS, with a shotgun, with a Remington 700 and with a M-1 carbine. It is hard as hell to hit a wild Florida hog with any gun.
