This is story (3) Wrycatcher...and is taken directly from the local news....
Notice as well......no shots fired, no dead home invaders.....
Police say 11-year-old girl used her own shotgun to scare off robbers in Lapeer County MLive.com
The girl hid in a bathroom closet, where she grabbed her shotgun that police said she stores in a gun safe.
When one of the burglars opened the closet door, police said the girl -- whose parents were due home from work a short time later -- pointed the shotgun at him and he ran off.
"She is fully capable of staying there by herself as we can clearly see based on this situation," he said. "She was able to defend herself from an intruder and be able to resolve an event even most adults would be taken aback by."
Added Parks, "She is fully capable of making sound, good decisions," he said. "And be a protector of her home."
Two Detroit residents were arraigned on charges Sunday in connection with the incident.
James Wasson, 53, is charged with first-degree home invasion, second-degree home invasion, burglary tool possession, receiving and concealing stolen property and felon in possession of a firearm and firearm used in commission of a felony.
Rhonda Steward, 31, who was found driving Wasson in a vehicle in Imlay City following the incident, is charged with first-degree home invasion, second-degree home invasion and burglary tool possession.
She is held on $100,000 in the Lapeer County Jail.
Parks said police believe the break-in is linked to between 25 and 50 similar incidents involving thefts of jewelry and household items.
