$15 minimum wage would destroy 1.4 Million jobs

60%+ of American workers earn $20/hr or less. Almost all of them will either get or demand a raise. That has a big effect on the market.
To "demand" is to ask for something -- presumably to be in a position to quit if one's demands are not met.

Alaska State Troopers on the job are "demanding" nothing short of the total ruination and destruction of my life. They are asking for a lifetime civil commitment to if they do not succeed in their attempts to murder me.

Those cops are drunk and derelict in their duty, and there is no one to hold them accountable.

Every time I meet one of those working cops on the beat, they are only interesting in punishing me. If I am not suffering, they feel they are not doing their job, which is to inflict as much pain and injury as possible on me if they can't kill me outright without getting caught by their own superiors.

They have not been of any help whatsover when I have complained of crimes committed against me; and I am finding out more and more that they themselves, on duty, were the perpetrators of the crimes of which I had made complaints.

I am not sure. I can only pray for some drastic action to be taken against those crooked cops for roughing me up, shaking me down, hustling me for paperwork, and stealing my valuables day and night, week after week, month after month, and year after year.

It is the same NAZI Holocaust agenda I have found that they are invariably pursuing against me whenever I meet any one of them, and I can see that murderous senseless hatred in their eyes.

And this is according to the Far Left CBO.

Undoubtably it would be a lot more.

Any poor person who needs to work deserves this shit sandwich they are being served- if they actually voted for the Dems.

29 states already have ratified minimum wages higher than that of the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. one of which is Florida who will raise their minimum wage to $15 per hour. Red State voters approved it.

So we can expect massive unemployment in Florida pretty soon then, right?
And isn't that the way it should be done, with each state and even each city being able to set their own MW wherever they want and think will benefit everyone the most?

I think $15 an hour is reasonable if it's done over 10 years or so.
And that's been my point all along. The absolute minimum floor MW should be low enough that it doesn't destroy the economy or the job market, and the ones on it are only teenagers trying to get job experience, older people starting over for whatever reason, older people wanting something to do in retirement, or those who are willing to do something to generate a little income for a while. If you live in NYC, your MW should be substantially higher than the national average while if you live in libfart MO it should be substantially lower. The federal MW should be at the bottom basement level while states and cities can set their own higher if they want to.

Why should workers in NYC see their MW held down by libfart, and should workers in libfart lose jobs because they have to be paid high wages due to NYC?

Why should there be a minimum wage? Why can't people decide for themselves?

Except that the consumers might decide they don't want to pay the higher price so don't buy what is being passed off onto them and then that "Capitalist" is no longer competitive in the market.
That's the same NAZI cops who enforce an absolute "floor" on the cost of living and ensure that by law it is held out of reach of anyone on public assistance. The cops ensure that poor couples with children are ALWAYS separated, men with the men, and women with the women and children.

Counterclockwise.......shiny side out.

Why should there be a minimum wage? Why can't people decide for themselves?
And if people do decide for themselves, why can't their choices be respected to enable them to live outside of sex-segregated communal living environments under constant police supervision?

But no, guns are banned and the cops rifle through our belongings and beat us with their billy clubs in the middle of the night, night after night, all our lives long, until they succeed in their murderous agenda to end our short and troublesome lives.

I hesitate to reply since I see no connection between what I posted and this rambling rant you came back with.
Maybe try again in American English ...

If a job can't pay even $15 an hour, then it's not a real job and doesn't need doing.

Says who? If I want to take a job making less than that, why is it anyone else's business?
It could depend on whether or not you are also obtaining social services. We should not be subsidizing capitalists with cheap labor merely so they can get richer faster.

That's why it's called a 'minimum wage', so sociopaths and labor racketeers can't abuse labor past a certain point and forces businesses to compete in other ways than simply on price cutting, like you know, good management, competence, quality, customer service, etc., all the stuff that many so -called 'business owners' are incompetent at so they make noises about minimum wage laws and their rights to use criminal illegal alien labor to get around those laws.

If you want a job paying less than MW, just move to Mexico or Red China, where you will be really happy.

A person making , say, $10/hour gets an increase over several years to $15 per hour
What do you think that person does with the extra money?

Well, if his value added is less than $15/hour, he goes on unemployment.
The Capitalist re-evaluates their bottom line with the higher wage and considers passing on the cost to their consumers while remaining competitive in that market.
Except that the consumers might decide they don't want to pay the higher price so don't buy what is being passed off onto them and then that "Capitalist" is no longer competitive in the market.

Perhaps we should 'make' CCP China institute a minimum wage of $15 USA. ;-)

WE should stop out souricng anything to them, but your right wingers don't want to give up their stock market windfalls subsidized by the Cadres and the Fed and their Wall Street buddies lobbyists.

This a silly argument. There is no equal relationship between employers and employees. It's stupid to claim there is, even with skilled labor.

.. and this has gone on throughout history, in many industries. Walmart actually had their HR people helping employees with how to get on numerous welfare programs as part of their employee orientation program. In a town near here the company then threatened to fire employees seen wearing their Walmart vests in the lines at the local welfare and food stamp office, it was so embarrassing to the company; it's th9ose employees' fault according to the psychos in Walmart management.

There is no equal relationship between employers and employees.

That depends entirely on the employer and the laborer in question.

Do you think it's job of government to ensure everyone has equal bargaining power?

So 1.4 million Americans "make" less than $15/hour. If these are starter jobs — then your starting wage determines your earnings for the rest of your life under the Democrats' EEO/DOE system.

You max out at $25-30/hour in the prime of your career, by by that time inflation will have reduced your real wages to no more than today's minimum wage.

Your kids will then be even poorer that you were at their age.

No, I said minimum wage which today is something like $7.70 an hour or in that area. If it goes to $15.00 an hour, it will create a domino effect and everybody regardless of what they make will demand a huge increase as well, and of course it will lead to inflation.

I worked minimum wage jobs when I was younger in the later 70's. There is no way anybody gets inflated out if they get out of that minimum wage job and advance themselves. I had to switch companies and different fields several times in my life to get ahead. That's the idea.

Supply side economics is supposed to supply regardless.

Businesses fail all the time. What typical consumer will have a problem with five percent price inflation for the products they usually buy; fast food for example?

Firms outsourcing to China for cheaper labor should get taxed at the federal minimum wage rate regardless.

How is a minimum wage equal bargaining power? No one is advocating everyone be paid the same regardless of what they do for a living.
