In my local newspaper this morning--a report came out that in my state of Colorado out of the 3 billion in stimulus money that we will be receiving. 500 MILLION will be going to build a new bridge that services a KOA campground. Oh Boy--"we really needed that" & I can't wait to drive over that bridge to get to that campground!! Whoopie!

Not only that but the state of Colorado is very worried because they do not have their computers set up to handle all those zero's we'll be receiving. Now they're worried about accounting for all these designated "projects" that the Federal Government wants us to do, where to spend all this money--& let alone how to account for it.

I want to thank all you taxpayers, along with your unborn grandchildren for this bridge.

Wanna bet--how many other bridges to nowhere we're going to build?

500 million on a bridge to a campground?

What bridge costs 500 million?

I bet Palin kicks herself every day for not building the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere". She could have employed a hand full of grunts for a year or so and then erected an automated Tool Booth to charge the 3 people that would have used it – FOREVER!

Another bridge to nowhere? Say it ain't so Joe!!!:lol:

Maybe the bridge was BS shovel-ready. Sounds like it. Right now local officials can get money for almost easily started project and, at least it seems to me, no one in Washingon is focused much beyond getting allocated money out the door.

And how many jobs is that creating?

for those of you that think 500 million is too much....how much should a bridge cost......

Depends on the bridge type but I would guess a couple thousand per linear ft. for a medium size expansion bridge. If it is a small wooden bridge, $500. It's a guess.

I was wondering why the right wasn't calling out any of the pork in this stimulus bill. Finally! Ok, so lets scrap this program. Obama said there would be transparency, and they would make sure that the money wasn't wasted.

So, I'm willing to bet if this really is a bridge to knowhere, the project will be scrapped.

But maybe its not a bridge to knowhere. Maybe it is a good project.

But if it isn't, you should call your Reps in Colorado and scrap it.

Isn't this fun being involved in the process?

Don't cry to us that Colorado is pissing the money they were given away.
