I like what one of the sheriffs said at the link provided from ABC News:

“This lawsuit is for your rights and for your safety,” Weld County Sheriff John Cooke said at a news conference on Friday.
“These bills do absolutely nothing to make Colorado a safer place to live, to work, to play or to raise a family. Instead these misguided, unconstitutional bills will have the opposite effect because they greatly restrict the right of decent, law-abiding citizens to defend themselves, their families and their homes,” he said.

If anyone would know what would make their state safer, it would be the local sheriffs. Kudos to them for speaking out against a blatant attack on people's right to bear arms to protect themselves against such attacks as happened. The one in Connecticut was conducted at a gun-free school by a criminal who knew he would kill a lot of people before apprehension.

One armed teacher could have saved a lot of lives there. Just one.
