So it’s good for other countries to place tariffs on the US and for there to be huge trade deficits and that’s good for the US? Why?

You understand we have to largest economy in the world? Other countries can stunt their economy if they want. Economists agree tariffs are bad.

You understand China is rapidly overcoming our economy?

All their pollution is slowing them. They are the favorite cheapest supplier, but that can change quickly and then they slow...

Those nations hurt themselves with their tariffs far more than America. Consider the EU, that has almost double the population of the U.S. but cannot match its GDP. Same with Canada, with a worse GDP per capita. Then China, with a far worse GDP per capita and hundreds of millions living in conditions that the average American would consider atrocious.

Well, then why are they increasing tariffs now in retaliation?

They cannot compete with America in and apples to apples comparison, they have to cheat, lie, misrepresent, act covertly and quietly against you and use the media and global socialist influence to convince America that these countries are your "allies".

They increase tariffs because that's how trade wars work. You make something more expensive for me (and, stupidly, for yourself as well), so I make something more expensive for you. We all lose. Chinese taxpayers used to pay for part of your new solar panel, but now if you want that solar panel the U.S. government is forcing to pay a hefty tax on it or to buy more expensive ones from the U.S. You'll have to let several employees go, cancel some projects, work with lesser profits, and be less competitive against fossil fuels, but oh well. All this makes you want a drink. At the store, you realize the price of your favorite beer is a higher than before. Wasn't there something in the news about aluminum tariffs?
