I saw that punch line coming half way through the joke.

Wow. Now, I want to know how the writer put that together.

It seems they would have to imagine the "Rolling Stone" into the nursery rhyme first and then piece the rest from there.

A couple of hours. Maybe spread out over a couple of days, or weeks.
