A World Without Capitalism and Tradable Shares?

Socialists don't like it because it is a hindrance to their dream of an All-Powerful State that will micromanage their subjects' lives
That's a very narrow definition of socialism.

Other examples include worker self-directed enterprises where every employee has an equal vote in what to produce, where to produce it, and how the surplus is distributed.

Capitalism, on the other hand, has a fixed view that a small minority of owners/shareholders are entitled to make all decisions especially about how profits are distributed not unlike a feudal lord (or slave master)

The Divine Right of Capital by Marjorie Kelly: A Summary

"The Principle of Privilege:

"Stockholders claim wealth they do little to create, much as nobles claimed privilege they did not earn.

"'If equality under the law is the hallmark of democracy, privilege sanctioned by law is the hallmark of aristocracy.'

"Just as feudal lords extracted wealth from serfs on their lands, today’s aristocracy does the same with corporations.

"Privilege – the right of the aristocracy – is 'a right to income detached from productivity.'"

Other examples include worker self-directed enterprises where every employee has an equal vote in what to produce, where to produce it, and how the surplus is distributed.

Why should the C-suite officers have the same vote as you?
You're obviously much more knowledgeable........

Stockholders claim wealth they do little to create, much as nobles claimed privilege they did not earn.

Why should owners have any say in anything?
Yeah, Just because they supplied all the money to build the factories, that's no reason they should get anything in return!

What Georgie continually fails to understand is that stockholders get exactly what the company agreed to when it sold them the stock, and workers get exactly what they agreed to when they took the job. Socialists just don't grock the concept of VOLUNTARY EXCHANGE.

George has no money or stock, so no one else should have any....what a loser.

I guess he "travels light"? Good position to be in if you live in your mum's basement or on the street.

Pull your head out of your ass and wake up. Communism is a deadly threat to the entire human race.
Capitalism is killing the human race for profit

So you can't give me any specifics? That's disappointing.
Not as disappointing as capitalism.

Tallying Capitalism’s Death Toll

"Capitalism has ruled contemporary society since the dawn of the industrial revolution.

"Capitalism organizes the means of production to generate profit for the few, rather than meeting the needs of the many.

"Capitalism has wreaked havoc on our planet, and our worth as individuals. Capitalism will not satisfy the needs of the vast majority, simply because it is not profitable to do so."

Stalin and his people lived like Kings while the rest of the Soviet Union lived like roaches...

The Soviet economy, 1917-1991: Its life and afterlife | VOX, CEPR Policy Portal

"Russia’s Soviet era was distinguished not by economic growth or human development, but by the use of the economy to build national power.

"On the centenary of the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, this column shows that while the education of women and better survival rates of children improved opportunities for many citizens, Soviet Russia was a tough and unequal environment in which to be born, live and grow old.

"The Soviet economy was designed for the age of mass production and mass armies. That age has gone, but the idea of the Soviet economy lives on, fed by nostalgia and nationalism."

Communism is based upon the entire idea that the Government can run your life better than you can, and the people need to be micromanaged by the communist overlords who will live in luxury while the slaves wallow in squalor , eating garbage, doing what the communist bosses say.

What gives it appeal is that all of the Leftists think they will be in the "inner party" and be one of the few barking orders.

For most it doesn't turn out that way. There just isn't room for that many chiefs. That's the whole reason for Stalin's Show Trials. Wasn't room at the top for Trotsky too, so he was destined to take an ice pick to the head.

Wow, this has to be the dumbest idea I've seen in awhile.

And that's saying something, given how many QAnon/Trump posts I've been reading.
Why are you reading about Qanon and Trump, lack of imagination ?

Opinion | A world without capitalism is not too hard to envision

"Imagine that shares resemble electoral votes, which can be neither bought nor sold.

"Like students who receive a library card upon registration, new staff receive a single share granting a single vote to be cast in all-shareholder ballots deciding every matter of the corporation, from management and planning issues to the distribution of net revenues and bonuses.

"Suddenly, the profit-wage distinction makes no sense and corporations are cut down to size, boosting market competition.

"When a baby is born, the central bank automatically grants her or him a trust fund (or personal capital account) that is periodically topped up with a universal basic dividend

"When the child becomes a teenager, the central bank throws in a free checking account.

"Workers move freely from company to company, carrying with them their trust-fund capital, which they may lend to the company they work in or to others.

"Because there are no equities to turbocharge with massive fictitious capital, finance becomes delightfully boring—and stable.

"States drop all personal and sales taxes, instead taxing only corporate revenues, land, and activities detrimental to the commons."

How about this as an idea instead.

Establish a Dictatorship of the Proletariat , where there is one, supreme chairman who runs the place along with his cabal. They tell the people what to do, where to live, what to eat, when to shit. They provide one media source, listening to radio broadcasts that are subversive would be prohibited and the offenders sent to Death Camps for reeducation. There will be pictures of Sleepy Joe everywhere, so the people will know the eye of the government never sleeps.

SImple system, I think it could work.

Is that why the Soviet Union had a third world shithole economy?
Because it was boring and stable?

Mass starvation was common before capitalism. Now it occurs only in socialist countries
