in Boynton Beach, Florida a police officer tries to make a traffic stop on a 13yr old boy riding recklessly thru traffic on his dirt bike. the boy tries to out run the police cruiser. he ends up loosing control of the dirt bike and crashing. he died instantly. dirt bikes cannot be legally driven on streets or highways. Police chief Michael Gregory stated that there is no cam on the cruiser but there is no evidence that the cruiser ever came in contact with the dirt bike. the kid just lost control of the dirt bike. Boynton Beach mayor Steven Grant spoke with the boy's family members telling them not to blame the entire police department for the actions of one officer. essentially throwing that officer under the bus. effectively blaming that officer for the boy's death. the mayor then stated the police and the city are responsible. the mayor did not mention that the parents share responsibility for getting their son that dirt bike. they were responsible for teaching him to ride that dirt bike in a legal and safe manner. as young as he was he was responsible for stopping for the police and not trying to out run the police cruiser. and now one of the boy's grandmothers is saying that the police tried to stop him and then chased him because he was black. yes that is how some black people think that they can do anything they want and if something happens to them it is not their fault it is the police's fault. they say that it is racism. the parents need to be held accountable and yes as hard as it is ,it should be stated that the young boy is also responsible for what happened. so now after the mayor said the city and police are responsible this family will be getting a sizable monetary settlement. and police officer's life and family will be ruined . he will probably end up in jail.
