I might be missing something here but the Supreme Court is the final say in the country on legal matters is it not? This being the case what choice would Gore or Bush if the decision had gone against him have other than to accept the courts decision? The only way there could have been some kind of violent up rising over the decision would have been if Gore called for it and even then the odds of winning the lottery would have been better than that happening on the whole the statement is pretty silly but not really out of character for Gore.
