I kinda laugh sometimes at leftist Americans. Their ancestors left the eu b/c they thought it sucked so bad there that they would rather pack their families on a ship, that had living conditions of 'no, not really' sail for weeks across an ocean that killed many, to land in a country they had never seen, with no real way back if things went wrong, and strode out into a wilderness to carve out a living for themselves, all to get out from under the yokes of tyrants. But now the kids of these incredibly brave people, want that yoke, they want to bring the shit of the eu here and be like them.

Working in Silicon Valley, I've observed that the offspring of very wealthy people are often quite appalling. The characteristics that make one person successful don't always yield to good parenting - but quick acquisition of a lot of money is rather an outlier.

The broad middle class of America (the people who worked hard to make a better life for their kids, whom they taught traditional values of self-reliance, responsibility and citizenship) has been under assault by Progressive Statists for at least 4 generations.
