Not to worry the wall isn't going to happen , just a con to the mooks to get drumpf elected

LOS EBANOS, TEXAS — All along the winding Rio Grande, the people who live in this bustling, fertile region where the U.S. border meets the Gulf of Mexico never quite understood how Donald Trump's great wall could ever be much more than campaign rhetoric.

Erecting a concrete barrier across the entire 1,954-mile frontier with Mexico, they know, collides head-on with multiple realities: the geology of the river valley, fierce local resistance and the immense cost.

What's truly funny is the Mexican government plans on building a wall to keep the Central Americans out. The overwhelming majority of people living along the border WANT the wall built. The fact that the AP socialist reporter only talked to the Mexicans living along the border speaks volumes to a thinking person. Clearly not to a guano though.

Now Mexico wants to build a border wall with Central America to keep out illegal immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala

I voted Republican. We just want strict adherence to immigration laws. Our Constitution even says : Nobody is above the law. Not even Hispanics. Richard Nixon the ultraconservative wasn't, what makes you think little Mexican peons violating immigration laws are entitled to?

I don't see the term "citizen" anywhere among the complaints.

We don't NEED any damn walls, we just need to enforce federal immigration laws. And. that's all we ever needed to. Mexico has shoot to kill orders on it's southern border guards. They build walls too. Why so hypocritical and harsh? Where are the liberals on that? Racism...I think it's a little more than that.

a handful of ranchers with property on both sides, people who profit from smuggling of people and drugs, a couple of naturists worried about animals crossing

The cost and danger to the US far outweighs the small amount of those who object.

I'm sure there can be ways to open part of the wall for migration of certain species. Herding animals to one location, open the gates then close them afterwards twice a year.

The safety and interests of the US take priority. The rest can be discussed and taken into consideration. Some compromise might be worked out, some rejected.

First work on areas of the wall where there is no dispute, even an electric fence where a wall is not practical.

I live well over thousand miles from the border. I work with LEGAL aliens. Illegal aliens creep in here, upset the demographics, use racism as a ploy and I see my 200 year old culture slowly disappear to appease politically certain groups. It is so appalling, that's why we voted Republican.

Mexico is the problem. I vote put massive wall on their side. Their property values are peanuts comparitvley. Don't like it? Too bad. They had enough time to fix it. We want the Rio Grande view and access. National emergency. Time is up on their corrupt asses.

Funny, Mexicans build walls and have shoot to kill orders on their southern border. They are like that, all up in your face and then hypocritical.

I love Mexicans. But I don't want them taking over and saying my objection is racism. Why is it most others can legally immigrate but Mexicans can't? Nobody is above the law , not even poor Hispanics. Nobody. Why is this racial? Mexicans are making it racial. Just follow the freaking laws already. Racism my ass.

We don't need the wall. End the freebies and the illegal parasites will leave.

1. No welfare for illegals

2. No free k-12 school for illegals

3. No free health care for illegalds

Most of our illegals are latin american indians and they cannot meet even our super-low standards for legal entry. They are illiterate, unskilled, disease-ridden losers and it's suicide for us to let them come here.

Lots of mexicans are of spanish descent and thus europeans and fine people. They stay in mexico and do fine.

Americans who live in reality say otherwise.

I agree that a border wall is not needed, however, as a sovereign nation, we have a right to control our borders in an effort to review people coming in to ensure that they are not fugitives from justice in another nation, or have not committed crimes here before and are returning after having been deported.
Thus, I believe that to eliminate the cost of an actual wall, we militarize the border, add drones, electronic surveillance, guard dogs and give the troops orders to shoot those that do not comply with orders to return back to their own borders. That will cut down on illegals.

Got to love it, excusing all illegals under the guise of a very few high tech well educated immigrants. Apples and oranges. Even at that, bad comparison . Piss poor ignorant Mexicans don't get a Monopoly get out of jail free Card because they are Hispanic. Is it too much to ask people follow ALL the rules?

What a great idea! Give the federal government the authority to shoot to kill anyone without a trial, who appears to be a person who committed a misdemeanor, by crossing the border without papers! I'm sure that this was what Madison REALLY was thinking when he drafted the Bill of Rights!
