Mind you the whole video is about an hour and 45 minutes.

But it does have some really good speaking points, the first two speakers in particular bring up really interesting things. These are the kind of things you'll never hear about in the media due to a lack of sensationalism, but they're discussions that the intellectuals have in backrooms and decide where the party goes.

The third speaker, Jennifer Marshall, is from the Heritage Foundation and basically just reads off a pre-written speech against gay marriage. I found that worthless and probably the worst speaker of the bunch.

Christine Whitman brings up good points on how the primaries are increasingly decided by fewer and fewer voters due to a growing number of people that register as independent and thus are ineligible to vote in primaries. And since the GOP has redistricted the House districts to be safe within a 10-15% margin, the only real challenge is from the right, and thus a small number of voters are deciding who goes to congress.

Mark Rogers brings up good points on the young vote, latino vote, and single women vote.

The other speakers (other then Jenny Marshall) bring up good points too. Worth watching!

The establishment GOP is nearly identical to the DNC. Both over-spend, both restrict rights and liberties. Both say one thing and do another.

The GOP is in a very difficult position because they will lose their radical base is they go too far to the center, and will lose the center if they go too far to the right.

Finally and most importantly, the GOP is being run by complete idiots.

The gop doesn't have any logical idea's to advance America. Slaughtering science, infrastructure and giving education to only the rich is a loser.

The radical base wants to live within the swamps of the south and seems not to realize that the majority of this nation enjoys living within a first world country. A country that has both private and public sectors.

Old white Conservatives need to realize that the 1950s aren't coming back. Then the GOP can begin to appeal to normal Americans.

Establishment GOP is useless

That's precisely it. Younger Americans are more libertarian in their views. They don't care about abortion and have no problem with gay marriage. They don't like NSA spying and they want to be able to find a job out of college. The GOP isn't going to win these groups over if they're going to continue to beat the same old tired social conservative shtick. How many races have they blown the past couple election cycles because they can't get that through their heads?

I love watching the GOP self destruct. It must have been pretty much the same watching the Whig Party go under. I do believe in a two party system, but Ike is dead, and with a few minor exceptions, like Gerald Ford and Bush I, all they seem to come up with is crooks (Nixon), guys with dementia who pretty much slept through their presidency (Reagan), and people who really should not be allowed to leave the institution, except under proper supervision (Bush II). The Republicans need their own version of FDR who would be able to put together a coalition of groups that are not insane or extreme. I know that is asking a lot....

The ideological split in the GOP played out in the Democrat party in 1972. Then, the Democrats nominated George McGovern, a radical Liberal and was saved only by the actions of the criminal Nixon. But the DNC remained split until Bill Clinton's Democrat Action Counsel in 1992. A generation of Democrats suffered from the split.

Do Republicans want to repeat history?

True. And the same thing happened to the dems in the late 40's, when the Dixicrats split from the dems.

Now, we are watching the republicans eat their own. It is refreshing to be an observer, rather than a participant.

Parties change over time. I was just going to bring up the same thing you did. The D's were split in the 70s and the 90s. The Republicans were split in the 70s as well, with Reagan challenging Ford in the 76 election. The Republicans may be going through another realignment, but I don't see why that's automatically assumed by their opponents to be a bad thing. If anything, the Democrats should want the GOP establishment to stand solid on their failed ideas. If a newly renovated party emerges that is more appealing to the youth vote and Hispanic Americans that's not good for the Dems.

Any party that gives a damn about America needs to make
-Education
-infrastructure
-Science
-and pro American business policies the center of their plan.

These parties need to work towards the advancement of America....1787 is long gone.

Just because a few GOP people in DC are only about protecting themselves doesn't make the entire group rotten.

The sales pitch by losertarians to be more like them is hilarious. You can't even win the GOP nominee yet keep telling us to be "liberals that don't like big GOV" to win elections. Strange how the GOP has owned the White House 20 of the last 34 years....but we're supposed to be losertarians to really appeal to "middle Americans."

Ah hah! I KNEW you were a Commie?
The Republicans worship the Declaration of Independence and threw out the Preamble; better for business.

On the other hand, give the Dems 2 trillion for infrastructure and you think it's going to go into infrastructure?

The country is not the same as it was 34 years ago. Generations change. If you ignore that then you do so at your own peril.

The social conservative mantra isn't a winning issue for the GOP anymore. We saw that with several races in 2010 and 2012 (Nevada, Colorado, Missouri, Indiana) in which the GOP should have won and blew it because they espoused a viewpoint that people now consider offensive. Yet, you'll notice some strong social conservative candidates like Pat Toomey won in Democratic leaning Pennsylvania and it's no coincidence that he ignored most of those conversations and kept his message on the economy and ObamaCare.

Just ignore him. He's a dipshit. He says exactly the same thing in every fucking thread. He's a like a See 'N Say. Pull the cord and one of the same three choices keep coming up.

The irony is Matt proclaims to be such a big advocate of science and education when he is, in fact, a racist, thus the epitome of ignorance.
