Democrats have TRIED, but Republicans are dead set against giving money to working Americans. They claim that working Americans have to be kept broke and desperate in order to force them to work. Government benefits are a "disincentive" to working.

The USA is the only first world nation which uses "earned income credits" as a subsidy to substandard wages. The only nation in the first world with no universal health care, no mandated vacations, or maternity leave, and the only nation with a "charter school system" destroying the public education system.

In nations with cradle to grave social programs, workers are MORE productive than American workers. People who have free education, guaranteed incomes, universal health care, and cradle to grave social programs are happier, healthier, and living longer than Americans.

The USA used to TOP the world's best places to live lists. 45 years of Republican tax and labour codes, and now you can't even make the top 10 and you're in danger of falling out of the top 20.

I think both parties believe in a cheap labor force. The only way around it is to deny businesses that labor force and let them decrease about how lazy people are.
