And Thanks to Joe, al-Qaeda Is Back in Afghanistan

One of the many conditions in the Doha Accords that was ignored during it's 135 days of it's implementation by Benedict Donald while he continue the rapid troop withdrawal from nearly 14,000 US troops to 2,500 by the time he left office. They only met one condition. Did the Neo_GOP care? Nope, they were too busy whining with Benedict over his lost election to give a flying rodents butt.

Just because you know jack-squat about military tactics....doesn't mean you have a point.
2500 is alot of people if you're just using an airstrip to launch drones from. They were gonna have a Top Secret CIA outpost there....and Bye-dumb screwed the fucking pooch....abandoned Afghanistan.....and destroyed our ability to fight ISIS and al Qaeda. Not to mention removed a primary strategic outpost to keep an eye on Iran.

He happens to be correct. The biggest effect of this will be Al Qaeda has a new martyr to rally around. Look for revenge attacks coming from the new Terrorist partnership of Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

Lots of them went to Yemen.. has nothing to do with Biden. What new martyr?

Who woulda thunk his PR stunt would help terrorists?

Yet another accomplishment for Joe.

White House: Oh yeah, by the way, al-Qaeda’s back in Afghanistan

Actually, you can thank Bush for that. If we had to stuck to our original mission and followed Al-Qaeda into Pakistan and hunted down and killed off the remaining element of it wiping it out altogether there would have been no resurgence in Afghanistan. Instead, they decided to make us a 20 year occupying force fighting off tribal skirmishes left and right from Al-Qaeda survivors allowing them to constantly regroup and reorganize to the tune of trillions of dollars and an untold number of lives.

Biden scrapped Trump's deal.
Trump wanted the US to stay in Bagraim Airbase.....but Biden shafted us, and the Afghani's.....and pulled out completely.
Trump had already abandoned 5 other bases in Afghanistan in accordance to the agreement he signed.

The General justified their decision under oath in front of Congress and the world.

Senator Warren: (02:01:15)
........ Once President Biden made the decision to have US forces leave the country who designed the evacuation?

Sec. Austin: (02:01:55)
Well, Senator, again, I won’t address the advice I gave the President. I would just say that, in his calculus, this was not risk free. And the Taliban we said earlier in this hearing, were committed to recommencing their operations against our forces. His assessment was that, in order to sustain that and continue to do things that benefited the Afghans, that would require at some point that he increase our presence there in Afghanistan. So, once he made the decision, then of course, from a military perspective, in terms of the retrograde of the people and the equipment, that planning was done by Central Command, and certainly principally, by General Miller. Very detailed planning, and then we came back and briefed the entire interagency on the details of that plan.

Senator Warren: (02:03:03)
Okay. So the military planned the evacuation. Did President Biden follow your advice on executing on the evacuation plan?

Sec. Austin: (02:03:12)
He did.

Senator Warren: (02:03:15)
Did President Biden give you all the resources that you needed?

Sec. Austin: (02:03:21)
From my view, he did.

Senator Warren: (02:03:22)
Did President Biden ignore your advice on the evacuation at he point?

Sec. Austin: (02:03:30)
No Senator, he did not.

Senator Warren: (02:03:32)
Did he refuse any request for anything that you needed or asked for?

Sec. Austin: (02:03:37)
No.

Taking the war to Pakistan would have been problematic.

Taking the war to Pakistan would have been problematic.

If you're going to go to war then you better go to win it or don't go at all. Letting Al-Qaeda survive was a huge policy blunder by Bush and Rumsfeld and they own the whole fucking calamity. Shortly after our disastrous withdraw from Afghanistan someone wrote a really informative and lengthy article on all the mistakes that were made in the beginning and how changing our original mission completely fucked us.

Why are you guys bitching about Biden? Trump is the one who negotiated the deal with the Taliban for US withdrawl.

Which Biden botched very badly. Trump's withdrawal plan is here, if you care to read it...

I don't even think Biden's enforcing this part:

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States as a state and
is known as the Taliban will not allow any of its members, other individuals or groups, including
al-Qa’ida, to use the soil of Afghanistan to threaten the security of the United States and its
allies."

Those 2500 were scatter across the provinces and while there was a looming deadline when the Truce was going to end, there was no evacuation plan for meeting the May 1st deadline. Those plans were drawn up by our Military. So all the Neo-GOPers who bash President Biden are really just bashing the US Military, again.

The pooch had already been screwed by Benedict Donald who simply did not enforce hardly any of the conditions set on the Taliban in his conditional withdrawal agreement. Joe Biden was not willing to re-invade Afghanistan to fix the Dumb Donnie's' fuck up, and 20 year of feckless nation building.

I don't care how many other bases Trump closed down, numbnuts.
The plan was to operate out of one place and support the Afghan government from there with the minimum personnel possible.
Biden fucked all of that up by bailing on them without telling them in advance.
