The number of people killed and wounded continue to be added to the ever-growing record-setting year of gun violence / murder in Chicago this year..... Year to date, 2,497 people have been shot in Chicago, with 375 shot and killed and an additional 43 citizens murdered by other means.

....and Americans 'wait eagerly' for the Obama news conference addressing the issue...that will NEVER come....

After all, you can't politicize gun violence when it's in 'Rhambo's neighborhood!

Chicago is not at the top of the list of gun violence. One article I've read puts it at 21st in the nation.

Why would the president hold a news conference about what goes on in Chicago when the same thing happens in every major city in the US? Gun violence, murders, deaths are so common in the US, if he held a news conference for them, he would never have time for anything else.

There was a shooting in Belgium - THAT is news. Here in the US, its just another normal day.

The big inner cities have been dying since the 70's. The Watts riot was in the mid 60's and Obama wasn't presdent then. Offshoring factories to low wage countries has helped this trend by taking away jobs formerly done by blue collar America, including Blacks.

WHY would the President hold a news conference? Because he's sick and tired of the gun violence, of Americans being killed of course. Why WOULDN'T he take the opportunity to politicize gun violence happening in the same place over and over every weekend, every day?

Unless he doesn't give a damn about victims in Chicago, because those shootings have been accepted as part of the norm now, because he doesn't want to cause problems for Rham Emmanuel, and THOSE shootings doesn't fit his narrative / agenda?!

I thought ALL lives matter, LN?! If Obama is truly tired of gun violence and murder, instead of throwing a fit over random occasional school shootings why doesn't he address the continuous, regular violence and murder going on constantly in Chicago?! We can't anticipate where the next school shooting is going to happen, but you can safely bet that at least 5 people and double-digit more are going to be shot EVERY weekend in Chicago!

Obama hand-picks the big 'sensational' stories that draw upon the most EMOTION. Liberals know they can't win a factual / legal argument so they focus on stirring up the most EMOTION at the time of such incidents as the UCC shooting. You said yourself, people have gotten too used to the shootings going on in places like Chicago and Baltimore. There's a gun store in Wisconsin that has had many handguns used in South Side Chicago crimes traced back to it -- I'm talking 100's. But the Government can't close down that store. Why? Because the NRA lobbied for laws protecting gun stores from criminal or civil liability.
