This back & hip pain is debilitating on some days. Doc has offered pain meds and surgery and both of those are out of the question. Surgery could end my career and drugs make it dangerous to work.

What’s your bed like?

Mattresses can make all the difference.

I use muscle relaxers for the back, if that dont work I get block ice while on my stomach. Havent had to do that for awhile though. No experience with hip pain so cant help there.

You paid two and a half thousand dollars for a bed? And you have chronic back pain?

I spoke to someone (a back pain sufferer) once who paid 5,000 euros for a bed, to no avail. Yet the best night’s sleep he ever had was on his mother’s IKEA pull out sofa bed, when he stayed the weekend at her place.

Maybe you need to see a different doctor, perhaps a specialist in chiropractics? A lot of people have undiagnosed subluxations in their spine that some adjustments might be in order and give you relief from the pain?

It's a work injury. I've had the bed for years

I went to one of those after the initial injury. He made it worse. Never again lol

I can't work while impaired on pills
You dont know if there would be impairment unless you tried em and sometimes just dosing on the w/e has allowed me to make it through the next week. I also do stretching every morning. Sometimes down time is the only remedy. When I hurt myself initially it was at least six months off,

I make a mix for us with DMSO, Aloe Gel, Lavender and Clove Essential Oil, a few drops of SSK and Arnica.

DMSO gel can be bought online or at most farm stores. Arnica gel can be bought at Walgreens. Good essential oils its a guess and by-golly unless you have a good supply source. Potassium Iodide crystals make your own SSK.

The problem may be that you may have an underlying issues that is actually causing your pain and you need to find competent help to help you figure out if that is the case. Kidney's Liver, Gallbladder and Bile duct issues can all cause extreme back pain; as can intestinal issues.

If it is a case of weakened bones or disk or cartilage then you need to alter your diet to improve the health of those things.

Lastly I use Comfrey. It is not recommended because it has pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) which can and will damage the Liver if used for any length of time. I currently use it sparingly for an ulcer *which also causes severe back pain* but my Liver is actually in very good condition as I do not drink or take anything else not even aspirin or tylenol.

Black pepper or cayenne pepper will also provide a natural pain relief taken orally.

This fellow I worked years ago with swore by that DMSO for his knee pain. He was telling me you can buy it at any reputable flea market, and it works really well if you inject it if you don't care how you smell.

DMSO just applied like a lotion can help in many areas. Precaution is keep it only on clean areas as it drives into the tissues whatever is there with it. I gave a friend my mix for his hands which are full of arther... He says it works asap when he gets home at night. Another thing I've used is Rosemary EO applied on painful area like where disk is missing and it works too.

The best pain relief and healing herb is Comfrey but again it can cause damage so not to e used for very long. It can be taken internally or used as a poultice.

Is it pain from arthritic changes or from muscles? I do get hip and back pain from running if I don’t take the time to stretch. There are good strengthening yoga type ones I try to do. (Probably your doctor mentioned this?

I also wonder, would a support type of belt/brace help so you at least don’t aggravate it more?
