Are Republicans "trying" to lose the 2016 presidential race?

and everybody knows that presidential campaign news is really the only kind of news there is. There never really IS any news of any kind in years where we are not having a presidential election.

Young Get News From Comedy Central - CBS News

A poll released earlier this year by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 21 percent of people aged 18 to 29 cited "The Daily Show" and "Saturday Night Live" as a place where they regularly learned presidential campaign news.

my views may be of zero value to YOU, but they count every bit as much as yours when it matters.

And my guess is, that my views, even when voiced from the tropics, resonate more readily with the center of the bell curve where elections are won, than the wacko birther shit you and your ilk continue to spew.

do you know how many americans get their news from SNL and MTV?

None

Even your own link identifies it as a source for news not an exclusive source

The Daily Show does a great job of getting young people interested in politics, so does SNL.

When Hillary takes the oath of office, the GOP will have no one to blame but themselves.

Bush's Presidency was SO BAD that memories of it kept the GOP out in 2008 and 2012, and will do so again in 2016.

Conservatives haven't wrapped their minds around this yet.

They always whine about "blaming Bush".

Well, Conservatives would do themselves a big favor by blaming Bush too. He and his policies are why voters don't want you stooges back in charge, oafing up the economy and clodhopping all over the world.

As Expat pointed out, for Presidential politics, not news.

I'm sure a greater number of over 50s get their Presidential political news from the Fox talking heads...which are commentators, not news...just like The Daily Show.

You know that citizens who choose to live abroad are still citizens and get to Vote, right?

AND... we get to contribute to political candidates and to PACS. All that and a suntan to boot!

everything in post #360 is true. If you think you can disprove any of it, please proceed.
A truth can be proven. 360 doesn't prove anything. It's mostly conjecture.

"...someone who writes this, can't possibly write that!"

That's not proof, it's a hypothetical. And wondering where he went to school, or how he got his grades, are just questions, they don't prove anything. But if you wanna go down that road, we can talk about why your side elected an AWOL CINC? We still don't know what Bush did for those 18 months in Alabama when he was in the National Guard.

He was probably doing a lot of coke. Which actually makes me like him more. I don't give a shit what he did back then, so why give a shit about where Obama went to school? It has nothing to do with his Administration policies. The same for Ayers, some guy he said "hi" to in the elevator a few times and only really knew him when he was 8 years old.

As a starter tell us why the POTUS should be taking sides in a local self defense case in Sanford Fla.
He shouldn't. He's got no business doing anything judicially. He just administers the laws, he doesn't adjudicate them.

Neither SNL nor MTV are affiliated with Comedy Central.

How many old white fucks get their "news" from Rush, Hannity or O'Reilly?

Only fools get their opinions from those hucksters.

Anyone who criticizes the Pres for exercising his own freedom of speech is a person who will suppress free speech if he gets a chance.

Boris... has anyone ever explained to you the bell curve of American political thought? Both parties face the same dilemma: they need to motivate and energize their bases - the far left and far right of that bell curve - and at the same time, they need to try to grab as much of the middle as they can. The middle are those moderates from both parties and the independents who don't really see themselves fitting into either party enough to permanently identify with them. The winner of the presidential election is ALWAYS the candidate who can hold his base while grabbing the lions share of the middle.

If the republican party can't figure out how to nominate a candidate who can run a campaign that accomplishes that, then frankly, they don't DESERVE to win the White House.
That's politics. Solidify the base which is usually the more extreme elements in the party, soften your stand on the issues to attract the less extreme elements, and finally muddle the message to attract some elements of the opposition.

Or as Will Rogers said, "If you ever injected truth into politics you have no politics"

There is a better way.......offer people better jobs and they will flock to the Republicans

Jobs are created when value is created. Government spends vast amounts and creates nothing. The worst of all possible options for jobs is the Democratic party. There's the rub. If the masses grasped that, they wouldn't be voting for you now.

Create us some jobs Republicans........that's the rub

If you understood my simple point, you wouldn't be a Democrat in the first place. That's the rub.

The rub is republicans still buy into the myth that jobs will just ‘trickle down.’

They don't trickle down. Actually they flood down. No one has a job but for a rich bastard who owns a corporation. And when rich bastards start corporations, they create lots of jobs.

kaz clearly does not understand economics, politics, or the American way.

We are a consumer economy first and foremost. Empower the middle class with good jobs and the economy will grow. Continue to screw the middle class and only the rich will prosper, and we all know what happens in such societies.

Irrelevant to the discussion.

The %s of women's voting tell us that your point does not matter.

I'm just asking this for my own amusement, I already know the answer. Seriously, you don't follow this discussion?

kaz, the female voting %s put end to any point you have: you are fail on this.

We're just disagreeing on philosophy, so there is no "win" or "lose" for either of us. I believe all people have rights that should not be removed without due process of law. Political ideology and objectives are not part of that. The most flaming, irresponsible liberal like you has the rights as anyone else.

You believe in acceptable losses where even liberals are destroyed personally in the cause of advancing the Democratic party. The collective is paramount, even over members of the collective. You can't prove or disprove either side, it comes down to our basic moral beliefs.

Noah?

What happened to the flood?
Why haven't Republican policies worked?
