Your thread is pointless and meaningless. The incident you cite is something that would be a very rare occurence in Australia, especially compared to gun violence in the US. You're pathetic.

Well, obviously, if a law doesn't prevent the crime 100% of the time; the law is useless--that is the position of the OP. I think many in Oregon would trade places with the guys in Australia right now.

No...we were scolded by our President that your gun laws are better.....but...as I have posted before, Australian gun crime is going up....and Australia confiscated guns...just like our gun grabbers want.

And now, a 15 year old, immigrant in Australia shot a police officer.......how did he get the allegedly banned gun?

Also, as I have pointed out...gun crime in Australia is confined to biker gangs, and the immigrant community......and just like Europe, immigrant gangs are using guns more and more...and they don't seem concerned with the extreme gun control in Europe or Australia.
Australia will confiscate guns, no matter who owns them. Their problem will not continue to increase, certainly not on the level of the problem the US has. One point four firearm murders per million in Australia: 27.9 in the US. If there was no action taken on the part of the Australian governmennt to stop this trend, it would still take about a hundred years for Australia to catch up with us, if not more.

Australia will confiscate guns, no matter who owns them.

They already did...and it didn't keep this 15 year old teenager from getting a gun....did it?
You need to stop harrassing me with all these posts. I am no longer interested in this thread or you. You are not making any valid points whatsoever and are just a numbskull jerk. There is no logical reasoning whatsoever in your thinking: Australia has a small, nearly microscopic percentage of gun related murders compared to the US, and that is not going to change, no matter how much you hate Muslims and love guns. Go away.

Look dipshit....you came into my thread.....I don't hate anyone....ignore gun crime in Australia...it won't ignore you....

But....How did a teenager get a gun in extreme gun controlled Australia?

the kid is 15 years old...how did he get a gun in extreme gun controlled Australia....I thought you anti gun extremists said they solved this...and here we have a 15 year old killing a police officer...

See...I have oointed out in post after post that criminals and mass shooters can get guns easily in any country.

Britain just caught a 19 year old planning on shooting up the university that kicked him out....je got a pistol and over 90 rounds with extended magazines...as well as pipe bombs...and he said geting the weapon and bombs was as easy as buying chocolates....

so how did a 19 year old get a gun in extreme gun controlled Britain?

Europe and Australia are behind the U.S. In mass shootimgs...but as it was pointed out...they have crazy people too....and with the media attention and fame our mass shooters get...that is going to travel over seas...and their crazies are going to start shooting people too....

No, but the other 1,000 to 2,000 deranged individuals who pontificated about getting a gun and shooting someone were stymied.

Proving a negative is impossible but reasonable conclusions are easy to draw.

A shame upstanding Australian citizens have nothing to defend themselves with should they confront a person intent on harming with a gun...

None of those other countries listed have anywhere near the negro or Latino populations of the US. You'll find that criminal violence, including "gun violence" is closely associated with those particular groups.

Obviously.

You do realize that almost 80% of all gun crime is committed by minorities in democrat controlled inner citis in the United States..right? That is an actual statistic, and not just emotion....

And what part of gun crime increasing in Australia don't you get......they banned guns and gun crime is now up 50%....and a criminal gun culture is taking root in their young men....

Yeah....they always overlook this mass shooting that happened...probably because the Chinese national attending school couldn't operate his gun properly so he only killed 2 and shot 5....

Monash University shooting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Monash University shooting refers to a school shooting in which a student shot his classmates and teacher, killing two and injuring five. It took place at Monash University in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 21 October 2002. The gunman, Huan Yun Xiang, was acquitted of crimes related to the shootings due to mental impairment, and is currently under psychiatric care. Several of the people present in the room of the shootings have been commended for their bravery in tackling Xiang and ending the shooting.

And this teenager from the original post...what would have kept him from shooting up a school instead of shooting just one police officer....?

Australia is lucky so far.....their criminals and mass shooters can get guns...they just haven't decided to shoot people...yet......

And of course....the reason they don't have these on that map...they killed under 4 people..which is what a mass shooting usually requires to be counted...

Australian mass murders - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • 2011 Hectorville siege - A mass shooting that took place on Friday, April 29, 2011, in Hectorville, South Australia. It began after a 39-year-old male, Donato Anthony Corbo, went on a shooting rampage, killing three people and wounding a child and two police officers, before being arrested by Special Operations police after an eight-hour siege.[6]
  • Hunt family murders - Geoff Hunt killed his wife and three children before turning the gun on himself on September 9, 2014.[8]

And of course we can't forget this recent event...

if he had decided to just shoot people...you would have had another mass shooting after the confiscation....you got lucky again....
2014 Sydney hostage crisis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On 15–16 December 2014 a lone gunman, Man Haron Monis, held hostage ten customers and eight employees of a Lindt chocolate café located at Martin Placein Sydney, Australia. Police treated the event as a terrorist attack at the time[11][12] but Monis' motives have subsequently been debated.[13]

After a 16-hour standoff, a gunshot was heard from inside and police officers from the Tactical Operations Unit stormed the café. Hostage Tori Johnson was killed by Monis and hostage Katrina Dawson was killed by a police bullet ricochet in the subsequent raid. Monis was also killed. Three other hostages and a police officer were injured by police gunfire during the raid.[1][14][15]

So....you shouldn't brag about not having mass shootings when only luck has kept you from having more of them.....both the 15 year old, and the guy in the coffee shop could have turned their guns on groups of people....and one day they will.......

Before you posted this, did you check how often gun violence occurs in Australia? Because if this is an isolated incident, and I suspect it is, your post is meaningless...MEANINGLESS.

Gun crime is increasing in Australia...

Gun found every two days in Melbourne s red zone

Police are discovering guns in cars every two days in Melbourne's north-west, which has been dubbed the "red zone" by officers concerned about a growing gangster culture in the region.

The alarming figure, obtained from The Police Association, follows anecdotal and statistical evidence of a burgeoning gun culture among young men in the city's north-western fringe.

Police working in the large region, which includes Broadmeadows, Sunshine and Werribee, have reported:

  • Firearm-related incidents, such as drive-by shootings, every six days.
  • An increasing trend of children as young as 16 carrying guns.
  • Regularly finding guns in cars, including sawn-off shotguns and an automatic machine gun, during routine car intercepts.
  • Guns stolen from rural homes being used in violent crime in the north-west. Some 530 guns were stolen in rural Victoria in 2013.
It comes as the Crime Statistics Agency released figures on Thursday showing an almost threefold jump in firearm offences in the north-west over the past five years, from 581 in the year to March 2011 to 1332 in the 12 months to April 2015.

A similar trend was reported statewide, with firearm offences rising more than 50 per cent to 13,626.

The figures follow recent high-profile shootings in which two men have been killed - one in Keysborough, the other in Altona Meadows - and significant gun seizures by police. In March, an automatic machine gun was found during a car intercept in Sunbury, and in February, an M16 assault rifle and Thureon machine gun were seized in raids on homes in the city's west.

There are slight upticks and downticks in crime world wide all the time.

That doesn't support your advocacy of a "Wild West Society".

Australian police report a 50% uptick......and they have been lucky....when a 15 year old can get a gun...they can commit mass shootings...and the guy in the coffee shop...could have shot a lot of people...

Luck is not something to brag about.
