Surprisingly never heard of this 1975 movie with Ryan O'Neil.
An Epic story about a young man who leads an eventful life starting from rags to great wealth and position... back to rags, and everything in between.
Some movies don't stand the test of time, this one is timeless. A great story, good characters and well done.

Thanks for the post. I think it's one of Kubrick's best films. Ryan O'Neal is quite good in the title role.

An amazing movie! One of the most beautifully shot movies ever.

Over 3 hours. Way too long. The constant narration is distracting and the ending is mundane.

It was long, but it was not a traditionally plotted movie that could work in ninety minutes. The long pauses were part of the experience.

But I get it. You will either be drawn into it or not.

I read the novel some time go. Its not Fieldings best work but worth a look/. I think it would be almost impossible to film.Perhaps a mini series structure would be more appropriate.
I have seem the film and it is ok.
