Bernie: I will vote against NAFTA 2.0 unless fixed

Wish he would stay in his own state, they seem to think he does a good job for them. myself think he is to old, and has to small a range of ideas to please a large part of the population

‪ "A renegotiated NAFTA must stop the outsourcing of U.S. jobs, end the race to the bottom, protect the environment and lower the outrageously high price of prescription drugs. ‬

‪Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 does not meet these standards and I will strongly oppose it in its current form."‬

Bernie is already giving Trump headaches, and wait till it's 2020.

Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 was supposed to be the ‘fix.’

Why did Bernie vote for the 1st NAFTA (or try to fix it) if it didn't do all of those things? All about politics?

It is an improvement over NAFTA, but Bernie wants nothing to do with it unless it makes all his dreams come true.

The left need to :anj_stfu: about prescription drug prices. They constantly yap about how the US should help other countries, then bitch and complain about drug prices being lower in these other countries. The US is footing the bill to bring these drugs to market, which is why they are cheaper in other countries, hello!

Go ahead refute the facts. Wait, you would have done that if you could never mind.

Yes outrageously high drug prices are what Americans want.
Trump wrote in protections for pharmaceuticals, making it more difficult for generic brands to compete

Trump said that drug prices were ridiculous and had to come down. Then he had one meeting with the lobbyists for Big Pharma, and suddenly drug prices had to stay high. You pay $400 for an Epi-Pen in the US. In Canada, we pay $70.

Umm, I think this is exactly the person Trumps want to have endorse AGAINST this deal. He probably just gained a dozen more Democratic votes.

Trump is finally wisening up and is going to walk away from NAFTA to force the hand of Congress. As I said before, on day one he should have given notice.

Trump can't unilaterally pull out of NAFTA. He doesn't have that power. Congress has to agree, and so does the Senate, and neither of them will do that.

You idiots seem to think that the Republicans holding onto the Senate is somehow going to keep Trump's agenda moving but you couldn't be more wrong. Mc Connell would sell his mother to hold onto the Senate in 2020 and the ONLY way he can do that is to start opposing Trump's idiocy.

I've read the NAFTA agreement from cover to cover. It states that any nation can pull out of the agreement with 6 months notice, it was originally approved by Congress, however, I want you or anyone else to point to me where in this text it states that such a withdrawal requires Congress consent. It doesn't exist. Also, Canada doesn't need Parliamentary approval to leave, nothing in the agreement holds anyone to it. In the U.S, this is Executive Branch territory.

Going back over 150 years, U.S Presidents have withdrawn America from International trade agreements Trump can withdraw as long as he gives 6 months notice.

Canada, as I said from day one is looking for every angle to take U.S jobs, industry and sovereignty. I called this and didn't stop, even after the USMCA was signed, I figured it was only out of desperation and for political purposes that Canada signed, always banking on some anti-American politicians to try and prevent Trump from doing away with NAFTA.

He should have did this on day one of his administration. America is back, no thanks to it's allies.

Bernie is the fly in the elitist ointment.....

~S~

Even though he owns 3 homes and has done quite well for himself.

He's the socialist Trump I suppose. Trump spent a lifetime building stuff, beating competition and being a Showman, finally going for the big prize after many years of itching to do so.

Bernie is the career politician who wants to sell you a dream and keep you in your place. At least you will suffer with a full belly.

Bernie is irrelevant; Trump needs to send him to Venezuela

TRUMP is terminating NAFTA before the new USMCA deal is in place so if if congress doesn't pass the new trade deal then it goes back to pre-NAFTA, which TRUMP is fine with. So pass or fail it's a win-win for TRUMP.

Actually, Bernie gives headaches to the Democrats by dividing the Party as he did in 2016. He takes positions on issues that sound good but are impractical and therefore irresponsible forcing his opponents to either appear to be on the wrong side of the issue to the left wing of the Party or to the moderates.

His role on being a pain in the ass to the Dems may reach a fever pitch in
2020.

The DNC changed their rules Only registered Democrats can run under
the guise of the democratic party H either has to join the democratic
party or run as a third party candidate.

That silly assed, ineffectual, and just plain irrelevant SOB is good for a laugh more often than not.

By now I believe any threat by Trump to terminate NAFTA rings hallow. If it was such a disaster of a deal as he claimed then why hasn't he already done so?
