My wife works as a secretary for a church that has a women pastor. She's about 5' 2" tall, about 43 years old, and never shot a gun in her life.

We invited her over for supper last year and went out in the back yard afterward. She had expressed an interest in shooting a firearm, so she got to shoot several different 9mm pistols, an AK-47, and finally a .44 magnum revolver, at some targets.

She did pretty well and was ringing those steel targets.

I didn't watch the videos, but I have taught several women to shoot. I think a solid double action revolver is the best thing to begin with, whether a man or a woman. It points naturally, is simple to use, is effective for defense, and allows a variety of ammunition that lends itself to beginners. A good .22 rifle would be next on my list.
