“We have to do more to stop gun violence; it’s ripping our communities apart — ripping the soul of this nation,” Biden said.

Currently, there are at least 20,000,000 AR15s in the US; every day, more are manufactured and sold.
Beyond he AR15, there are likely many millions of other 'assault weapons'; every day, more are manufactured and sold

An exceptionally simple question for those among you who support a ban on the manufacture and sale on 'assault weapons':
Give the huge number of 'assault weapons' already available to the public, how will a ban on the sale and manufacture of 'assault weapons' have any meaningful effect of the number of mass shootings?

It should be noted, if using the military definition of an assault rifle, instead of the mischaracterized definition popularized, such a ban on "assault rifles" would be pointless.
I am not one for redefinition of any word or term, term of art, etc, based on emotional appeal to the uneducated masses.

Definition

The U.S. Army defines assault rifles as "short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachine gun and rifle cartridges."[18] In this strict definition, a firearm must have at least the following characteristics to be considered an assault rifle:[2][3][4]

Rifles that meet most of these criteria, but not all, are not assault rifles according to the U.S. Army's definition. For example:

  • Select-fire M2 Carbines are not assault rifles; their effective range is only 180 metres (200 yd).[19]
  • Select-fire rifles such as the Fedorov Avtomat, FN FAL, M14, and H&K G3 main battle rifles are not assault rifles; they fire full-powered rifle cartridges.
  • Semi-automatic-only rifles like the Colt AR-15 are not assault rifles; they do not have select-fire capabilities.
  • Semi-automatic-only rifles with fixed magazines like the SKS are not assault rifles; they do not have detachable box magazines and are not capable of automatic fire.

The Assault Weapon Ban FAILED in 1994, and that's why it wasn't renewed.

The reality is that in spite of AWB, violence continued Columbine happened during the Clinton AWB, so did 9/11.

Many other crimes across the country happened

I love that citation. I have used that citation many times.

A responsible society doesn't need assault guns, but American gun culture is not responsible, hence the horrendous gun stats. But bakes will always be bakes. It's like telling someone, "Don't touch that, it's hot". They touch it, "Ouch", and you think, thick bake. Try to speak to an American gun nut, and they touched the hot item. Thick fucks.

Is it responsible to murder 15-20 million innocent men, women and children? Something you refuse to answer....

Europe...

In the 1920s, they began the process of registering guns....to make their people safer. That was the lie. by the mid 1930s, the socialists in Germany began the process of banning and confiscating guns, and the same for the countries they defeated......

By 1939, the German socialists began to murder 15 million - 20 million people....in 6 years.....men, women and over 1 million children.

6 years, 15 million- 20 million murdered citizens..not war dead, innocent people rounded up and murdered in camps and forests....

15 million in 6 years.

In the United States, gun murder for our entire 247 year history?

Around 2,470,000

Europe.... 15 million in 6 years.

U.S..... 2,470,000 in 247 years.

Now the math part...get out your pencil....

How many hundreds of years will it take the U.S. to catch up with the number of Europeans murdered by their governments.....

Show your work.

When your government is murdering innocent citizens in the millions, it is no longer a "responsible" society....and therefore, we need rifles, pistols and shotguns to keep them from becoming irresponsible........

“Biden: I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapon ban...”

And?

Congress won’t pass any ‘ban’ – nor should it; ‘bans’ don’t work, whether it’s Prohibition, drugs, abortion, or guns, ‘bans’ comprehensively fail.

Moreover, President Biden’s call for an AWB is perfectly Constitutional, in no manner in violation of the Second Amendment, the Supreme Court having never invalidated a state’s AWB.

Given the fact that Congress won’t pass an AWB – and that the courts would invalidate such a ‘ban’ if enacted – is another example of the dishonest right’s fearmongering and lying about ‘bans’ that won’t happen in an effort to keep the base frightened, ignorant, and going to the polls.

They did invalidate them with the Bruen decision......

???? "the dishonest right’s fearmongering and lying about ‘bans’"

It's your guy that is calling for the ban “I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapon ban."

Well, yeah, if you want to get a federal stamp, you can buy them, they are massively expensive and I've yet to ever see anyone owning one use them in the execution of a CRIME. AR-15s are NOT assault weapons. As I'm sure you know, THESE are assault weapons:

These idiots in Washington have no idea what a real assault weapon is.

first biden fills our military with queers and then he gives away all our weapons to ukraine and the taliban....now his last step is to disarm everyone.....boy the chinese knew what they were doing when they bought out the Buydems

America is a dangerous country full of killers and degenerates. Without guns, law abiding citizens would be preyed on day and night. Clan 13 and the likes could ride up and down blocks robbing, raping and killing at will.

Once the guns go...all is lost!

So my Class III M-16 is not an assault weapon?

No, THAT is an assault weapon. I was talking about the common everyday rifles people have like AR-15s, and such. Joe Biden thinks that just because something is designed to look "military style" that it is an assault weapon.

“We have to do more to stop gun violence; it’s ripping our communities apart — ripping the soul of this nation,” Biden said.
He's gaslighting. If he was really concerned about the future of our republic, he would never have allowed the democrat atrocities that we have seen during the past 4 years.
