An exceptionally simple question for those among you who support a ban on the manufacture and sale on 'assault weapons':
Give the huge number of 'assault weapons' already available to the public, how will a ban on the sale and manufacture of 'assault weapons' have any meaningful effect of the number of mass shootings?

Not gonna happen until there are Democratic supermajorities in both houses of Congress, and I don't see the people voting that way en masse for the foreseeable future.
