Dubya would have spent less than 6 seconds thinking (I use that term very loosely) about Syria before bombing them. The only reason there is hesitation on the part of Republicans at this moment is because they are trapped in the if-Obama-wants-to-do-it-it-must-be-wrong amber.

They are paid to be pissed off at Obama all the time, trumping any hypocrisy.

This would be a bad idea regardless who was in office.

Actually that's not "exactly" true.

The revisionists are alive and well.

After the 9-11 attack and the years after we invaded Afghanistan, NO ONE publically or the MSM said the Mujahideen were Al-Qaeda in any way, fashion or form. If that doesn't make it a fact of history, I don't know what will. It was only several years later out of politicization (propaganda) of the wars that this was even called into question. The MSM still doesn't say so, right?
