Boy dead. Bullying to blame?

Bullying isn't to blame. A vicious attack that murdered this child is to blame.

All children should be made to wear padded gloves because of one tragic freak accident. Isn't that what some people want to hear?

we need more laws on the books against bullying too. obviously the dozens we already have aren't strong enough

He was beaten to death. That isn't bullying, it's murder.

He wasnt beaten. Did you read the story? He took a single hit to the nose, and died from it.

I read the story, but I couldn't tell much about the nature of the fight. I was under the impression that the victim had several other injuries as well. I can tell you this, though . . . if it was a "sucker" punch delivered full force, the perpetrator was certainly fully culpable. That also might indicate a dangerous lack of socialization that easily points toward larger personality defects in that individual. The "bully" label applies to such persons.

Bullying or murder? Makes no difference to the parents that lost their child due to an act that can be construed as violent.

Well, it's obviously time to introduce "fist control" legislation.

Anybody who uses a fist during a fight, or makes a fist while threatening physical violence, should be charged with a crime.

Bullying will always be with us, with or without laws. It is up to the parents to teach their children to treat everyone with a level of respect that they themselves expect from others.

If this kid was punched daily during recess over a matter of time..then yes. It can be construed as bullying. But until more is known about the investigation...for now, it is involuntary manslaughter. I'm wondering how the kid feels...the one that threw the punch. Sorrowful? Horrified? Nonchalant? There will be the answer.

Precisely. Children should be placed in straightjackets to protect them from themselves. It's the only way to a true utopia where nobody punches anyone else. :eusa_whistle:

Nope... That would imply personal responsibility. There's simply no place for such a radical idea in a Progressive utopian society. :D

why should people be expected to think for themselves when we have a government to do that for them?
