But, Aren't Nazis and Fascists Really Left-Wingers?

As of yet I had not heard a single Progressive/Socialist call for slave labour.

"Even before the war, Nazi Germany maintained a supply of slave labour. This practice started from the early days of labour camps of "undesirables" (German: unzuverlässige Elemente), such as the homeless, homosexual and criminals as well as political dissidents, communists, Jews, and anyone that the regime wanted out of the way. As the war progressed, the use of slave labour experienced massive growth. Prisoners of war and civilian "undesirables" were brought in from occupied territories. Hundreds of thousands of Poles, Jews, Slavs and other conquered peoples were used as slave labourers by German corporations such as Thyssen, Krupp, IG Farben and even Fordwerke - a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company.[46] By 1944, slave labour made up one quarter of Germany's entire work force, and the majority of German factories had a contingent of prisoners.[47] The Nazis also had plans for the deportation and enslavement of Britain's adult male population in the event of a successful invasion.[48]"

Name the industry the President has nationalized. Not bailed out, but nationalized.

Nixon was for Universal Healthcare and I still don't think he was a Nazi, do you?

Compassion for the Palesinians and looking for a solution to their dispute <> hatred for the Israeli Jews.

Shithead...you're confusing Hitler's master race crap with his economic policies of socialism.

So is taking over private industry for the "collective" good....capitalism??? Hmmm, obamination has followed Hitler down this road a bit.

Universal healthcare....yeah, Hitler and obamination agree on that.

obamination is also showing his hatred of the Jews.....

Do your homework. Nazis were a combination of Fascists and Capitalists who came together to overthrow Communists.

I'm sure the EIB network backs bizerker all the way.

Come on, don't you remember all the calls for a new Master Race at the Democrats' National Convention. Hell, didn't Führer Obama write a book on how to accomplish that feat while he was in prison for trying to overthrow the Goverment? :D

I have gathered you all here today to remind you that this month is Negro Recruitment Month. We need more diversity in our party.

LBJ kept Ike Civil Right bill locked up in the Senate for 7 years then passed it as his own, you knew that, right?

Nothing says "I Love you" like public housing and government as the male head of household

I have no desire to teach you about how Nazis were not socialist. If you want to lean something, go dig up one of the many threads about it.

Socialism is the extreme left, fascism is the extreme right, both are totalitarian.

Succinct, and perfectly accurate.

Succinct, yes... Accurate, no

Again

Fascism... Totalitarian control with the state as the central focus... with the state able to regulate and even control business, private property, production, and even the lives of the people in order to prop up the state over the rights of individuals within the state... that is the totalitarian left... PERIOD..

No, but you can repeat all you'd like if it makes you feel better, and clearly it does.

Liberal scum will always make up lies about the Nazis because they have useful idiots in the NEO-Nazis to claim Hitler was just like them with his economic views.

Funny thing is I rarely hear anything about the economic policies of the NEO-Nazis....just their race baiting like liberals and Nazis.....

Yes, in name, they certainly were. But they weren't actually socialist as you're trying to portray them, no matter how much you pout in the corner and shovel dogshit into your mouth.

Hey, has your parole hearing for fisting yourself in public restrooms come up yet?

I'd love to be there!

Uh, the Germans were the national socialist....asswipe, try to figure that out.

But of course, you lap up the words of a fatass psycho like Mussolini just like you do with Chavez today.

You must've used all your brain cells using google the past hour to come back with that lame ass post.:clap2:

You should really stick to things you know about..

Politics isn't one of them.

Uh shithead....Hitler used the race card to implement his economic dreams of a collective German race living in luxury.

Your constant bullshit is like a tiny dog barking and chirping at my ankles....get the fuck out of here.

Coming from an admitted lifelong felon and meth addict like you, Twinky, you'll understand it people just drive by the car wreck that is your cognitive ability, pointing and laughing.

Both of those seem to give the state quite a bit of power; a lot like an monarchy/oligarchy or totalitarian dictatorship. Last I checked, the right is all about a smaller government. And we all know the extreme right is anarchy, which is no government at all.

You've got a few problems in your argument.

The first is you're intentionally confusing how Left and Right are used in American politics with how they are used in political theory when talking about the Political Spectrum. The American Right is just as much about big government as is the American Left, it's just the American Right is more about legislating social values and using the power of big government to empower Corporations over Unions. The American Left is typically the opposite, but also about big government.

The second, is that you've fallen into the old Name Game Trap. The Nazi's may have had the word socialist in their party title, but they were Nationalist, Pro-Military, Pro-Corporate and based a lot of their power in their niche reading of the Bible. That's pretty much a description of the Far Right in the United States to this day.

Even with that, I find it isn't constructive to even try to put the Nazi's on a scale of any kind though. As soon as you start tossing the Nazi's and comparisons to them around, you pretty much lose any argument you're trying to make via a corollary to Goodwin's Law. Not only that, no political party in the United States is even close to being as purely evil or power mad as the Nazi's. It's just not a useful thing to bring into a debate.

Yes... I stick to facts... you don't like such things

Hitler was named "Man of the Year" in 1938 by Time Magazine. They noted Hitler's anti-capitalistic economic policies:

"Most cruel joke of all, however, has been played by Hitler & Co. on those German capitalists and small businessmen who once backed National Socialism as a means of saving Germany's bourgeois economic structure from radicalism. The Nazi credo that the individual belongs to the state also applies to business. Some businesses have been confiscated outright, on other what amounts to a capital tax has been levied. Profits have been strictly controlled. Some idea of the increasing Governmental control and interference in business could be deduced from the fact that 80% of all building and 50% of all industrial orders in Germany originated last year with the Government. Hard-pressed for food- stuffs as well as funds, the Nazi regime has taken over large estates and in many instances collectivized agriculture, a procedure fundamentally similar to Russian Communism."

So why would an offshoot of socialism land on the far-right of the political spectrum, where socialism is such a bad word?

Because it comes back around. It's not a line, more a circle. Inevitably Mob Rule always ALWAYS leads to dictatorship, as does any "No Government" scenario.

The difficulty comes in cultural differences and how terms are defined differently in the USA as opposed to Europe. "Liberal" has a much different definition in the USA than it does in Europe and definitions of leftwing and rightwing are also incompatible trying to compare them here and there.

The Nazi and Facist regimes were rightwing in early 20th Century Europe. As the USA defines the terms, however, they would be far more leftwing than rightwing in the 21st Century.

Rightwing conservatism in the USA is what the Europeans would have defined as liberal in the 19th and early 20th centuries and what we now commonly refer to as 'classical liberalism' or promotion of virtue in natural rights, free markets, personal accountability, and individual liberty with government given only as much power as is needed to secure those natural rights. Obviously that does not look anything like Marxism, Nazism, Facism, or any totalitarian concepts.

The crazy thing is you believe your own bullshit.

So any idiots here want to counter what TIME said about Hitler....afterall you weren't alive when Hitler was in power and TIME wrote their op-ed on him.....

Let's post it again until some liberal shithead can dispute TIME....
