Pretty much. Some places have a standard which is fine, it's their business.

Just because most of society today think it's ok to go everywhere with sweat pants or mountain dew stretch pants, and wear slippers as shoes doesn't mean it's ok anywhere.

When I was a kid my grandma always made me dress half way decent when we went out. She told me "if you leave the house you don't need to look like a 100 dollars, but you need to atleast look like 65".
