Can this be true?

It's possible but I've seen this story in different variations before, one being one was sniped right before he beheaded someone

I know the NYPost exaggerates and distorts and splatters opinionated adjectives throughout, but this sounds like something out of the 007 manual. Even so, ain't it a great thought?

Is there any second confirmation of this?

Sniper takes out ISIS executioner from a mile away | New York Post
It was originally reported in the British tabloids as 1000 meters, about a sixth of a mile and the story is literally unverifiable. In one version it's reported he took out three with one round, possible but again unverified so this could be an embellished story based on a real event or it could be pure "feel good" fiction.

A mile away is certainly believable. Whether that was the case in this story or not I wouldn't know, wasn't there.

Whether the thing was taken out from a mile away or an inch, the important consideration is that it is now dead.
