Chaldean Christian leader: ISIS 'Systematically Beheading' Children In Iraq

A prominent Christian leader of the Chaldean community unveiled the "systematic beheading of children" and other horrendous crimes committed by ISIS. He said that the Sunni extremists are committing genocide against Christians in Iraq and with the aim to instill the Sharia Law as the law of the land.

In the interview with CNN's Jonathan Mann, Chaldean-American businessman Mark Arabo said that the "world hasn't seen an evil like this for generations."

"There is a park in Mosul, where [ISIS] they actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick and have them in the park," he explained. "More children are getting beheaded, mothers are getting raped and killed, and fathers are being hung."

Speaking from San Diego over Skype, Arabo called for the international community to offer asylum to the more than 300,000 Christians fleeing and living in neighboring cities.

At a meeting in the White House last week, he said the Chaldean-American leaders and the political leaders are saying that the world should come together to stop these crimes against humanity and help alleviate the sufferings of the Iraqi people.

"The world hasn't seen this kind of atrocity in generations," he said. "This is a crime against humanity. This is much broader than a community or a state. This is crime against humanity. They are doing the most horrendous, the most heart-breaking crimes that you can think of."

When asked about Sunni extremists' targeting of Christians, Arabo said that around 95 percent of Christians have fled, five percent have converted. Also, the ISIS have marked the death stamps on Christian homes, so whoever returns will get killed.

"Christian holocaust is in our midst," he said. "This should never be happening in 2014."

Just last week, the ISIS bombed a church that was 1,800 years old, and have bombed 6 churches so far.

While France is leading the way in offering asylum, Arabo is calling on the US and the United Nations to recognnize that this is a genocide and do more to address this crisis.

"This living nightmare is not going away," he said, "but it is only getting worse."

"The world cannot turn a blind eye."

It is very sad that such cruelties were not of any interest as long as they were limited to Syria.

Nobody forced the United States to interfere in Syria and fund the scumbags that became ISIS.

It is very sad that such cruelties were not of any interest as long as they were limited to Syria.

Of course you didn't want anything mentioned about what the Syrian regime was doing, such as

Syria: Stop Torture of Children | Human Rights Watch

However, if you weren't so focused on Syria and your White Knight, you would have noticed that people have been reporting on what the Boko Haram is up to and all the children they have killed, all the children killed in suicide and car bombings in Pakistan, etc. etc. You see, people are just not only interested in what is happening in the Middle East, but in all places around the world where atrocities are being committed.

I am well aware of the fact that you prefer posting anti-Syrian propaganda lies to the crimes committed by the Islamists which maraud in Syria since 2011. As for the gang "Boko Haram", whose name mocks the West, they are nothing compared to the war in Syria.

I think the viewers are aware that there are many, many posters who are obsessed with Israel on this Middle East forum and never post anything about what is happening in the rest of the Midle East, and you don't really seem to have a problem with that. I also think that the viewers are smart enough to realize that you want everyone to believe that Assad is a knight in shining armor who would never harm anyone at all, when he is actually just one of the dictators you see prevalent in many countries today. Maybe if he were more like King Mohammed of Morocco, things wouldn't have heated up there.

Puhlease. Assad may be an asshole but he kept the savages in check, just like Momar, Sadham, Mubarak and every other place we've screwed up from Africa to Latin America. We use NGO's like USAID to help create instability. Ukraine is no different either except they're not Muslim savages.

You people have to accept that the Syrians are happy with President Assad. He´s the one who can defeat that scum.

Strange how there are countries who need dictators and tyrants overlording the population to keep the people in check. Can you tell us what King Mohammed of Morocco is doing to keep his country basically on an even keel.

I couldn't give less of a shit about what the King is doing because it isn't an issue.

Actually nobody here has to accept anything. I am sure that there are even Syrians who don't idolize him as you do. Meanwhile, he is doing a heck of a job defeating ISIS.

At least 27 Syrian regime forces have been killed in a jihadist assault on a military base in the northern province of Raqa, a monitoring group said on Thursday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 11 jihadists from the Islamic State were also killed in the attack on Brigade 93, including three who blew themselves up at the base.

IS fighters now "control major parts of the base," the Observatory said.

Some troops had already pulled out of Brigade 93 in July after IS captured Division 17, another base in the region where at least 85 people were killed in fighting or summarily executed shortly afterwards, it said.

You know exactly that there isn´t only the "IS" in Syria but the FSA linked groups whose fighters number in tens of thousands and that these army bases were under Islamist siege for years. Furthermore the numbers of soldiers and jihadist terrorists who died are nothing but claims of "anti-government activists", members of IS, FSA, Al-Nusra, etc.

Yes, General Assad, you are going to prove to us that it was the FSA who overran part of that base. I am sure you have all their battle plans.
