President Buchanan had established an informal truce with the states that had succeeded. He knew the Federal forts would be an issue so he decided to defuse it. The truce was simple. The South was not to take hostile action against the facilities and the North was not to reinforce them.

This treaty held until that piece of shit Lincoln took office. He almost immediately sent a reinforcement ship to Ft Sumter. He did it to provoke a war because the sonofabitch thought he was "saving the union" . He did it without notifying Congress or even his Cabinet. He literally issued the order in the middle of the night so as not to get opposition.

However, Ft Sumter was always a false issue. The fort was built to protect Charleston Harbor and was mostly built by funds raised in South Carolina from export tariffs. The people of Charleston had just as much right to that fort as any Yankee asshole.

Nobody was killed at Ft Sumter as a result of hostile actions and hardly a reason to start a war that killed almost a million Americans.

The real war started when that shithead Lincoln sent his Army of thugs into Virginia to kill Americans and to take their arms away. That started the real war!

Those who were in lawless, treasonous rebellion against the United States merit no commemoration.

Those who engaged in lawless, treasonous rebellion against the United States are not ‘heroes,’ they are war criminals.

Removal of the monuments do not ‘destroy history’; they are merely being relocated to more appropriate venues, placed in the proper and accurate historical context: monuments to treason, racism, and hate.

There was nothing "lawless" or "treasonous" about secession. Repeating your claim over and over 10,000 times won't make it true.
