Chris Kyle, an ex-Navy SEAL who wrote the bestelling book American Sniper about his service in Iraq, was shot and killed at a gun range in Texas, multiple outlets reported Saturday night. A second man was also killed.

According to local TV station KHOU, officials said that Kyle was shot at point-blank range "while helping another soldier who was recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome" at a range near the town of Glen Rose.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Lancaster, Texas police arrested a suspect, 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, after a brief chase.

Kyle had become well-known for his exploits in Iraq, where he deployed four times, set the record for sniper kills at 150, received numerous commendations, and, according to the Stephensville Empire Tribune, was given the nickname "The Devil of Ramadi" by insurgents.

He was a good man, rest in peace.

Harry Truman carpet bombed civilian centers and FDR interred 100,000 innocent Japanese citizens

I wonder who can use this death most effectively?

The first person to note it wasn't in a "gun-free zone."

Shit happens even when it's not a gun free zone.
Actually this shooting happen out doors in an open range type sitting.
This shooting could have been in any wooded area.
Hunters are shot accidentally during hunting season.

Although, I don't subscribe to it's teachings;

The Buddhist philosophy of "Karma" came to mind as I read about this incident........

The author of the "Joy of Running" dropped dead while running so what's your point?

A suspect was arrested about five hours later in Lancaster, southeast of Dallas, more than 70 miles from the scene, Bryant said.
The suspect, identified as Eddie Ray Routh, 25, was pursued to a house in Lancaster by officers, including a local SWAT team. Routh tried to flee in a vehicle but was stopped about 9 p.m. after spikes were laid across a road, Bryant said.
"The suspect has been caught and is in custody in Lancaster," he said. Erath County sheriff's investigators and Texas Rangers were securing a capital murder warrant, he said.
Witnesses told sheriff's investigators that the gunman opened fire on the two men around 3:30 p.m., then fled in a pickup belonging to one of the victims. The Sheriff's Department didn't get a call until around 6 p.m.
Rough Creek Lodge is 77 miles southwest of Fort Worth between Glen Rose and Hico.
The motive for the shootings remains unclear, Bryant said. "Not a clue, absolutely no idea."
WFAA/Channel 8 quoted unnamed sources as saying that Kyle, who lived in Midlothian, and a neighbor had taken Routh on an outing to help him deal with post-traumatic stress disorder. Routh turned on the men and shot them in the back, the report said.
The sheriff said he could not confirm how the victims were shot.

May he rest in peace.

An alert was issued for Routh, who was later captured after a short pursuit in Lancaster, south of Dallas.

Routh is an expert marksman, according to law enforcement sources.

Since retiring as a Navy SEAL, Kyle had been actively helping other military veterans recover from PTSD.

"My heart is breaking," said Travis Cox, director of FITCO Cares Foundation, in a statement early Sunday morning. Kyle helped found the organization to help treat veterans who suffer from PTSD.

"Our foundation, FITCO Cares, this country and most importantly, his wife Taya and their children, lost a dedicated father and husband, a lifelong patriot and an American hero," Cox continued.

He hailed Kyle as a hero and said "Chris died doing what he filled his heart with passion – serving soldiers struggling with the fight to overcome PTSD."

That's pretty good karma if it took 150-160 sand ******* for it to catch up to him.

Sorry bout that,

1. Its a wonder why there is so much PTSD???
2. Killing muslims is the thing to do, can't kill them fast enough in reality, or even they can't kill each other fast enough in my book.
3. Could be just killing these low life bastards in their depressing realities, desserts and nothing for miles in a living hell, or could it be it is hell?
4. That is the question, is that part of the world, actually hell on earth and eternity???
