CNN's appalling threats to a child is a grave reminder of how important it is to keep the internet free from regulation and anonymous. And it also highlights the importance of being aware of the internet and your devices:

1. Always update your software (both O/S and apps)
2. Always update your anti-virus
3. Always update your BIOS to the latest version available
4. Always employ encryption when it is available
5. Always update the firmware of your network equipment (modem, router, etc.)
6. Use a VPN to mask your IP if possible
7. Use a proxy to mask your IP

If the U.S. Constitution won't prevent them from stifling your freedom of speech, they will try other means such as political correctness, blackmail, prevent you from earning a living, etc. Don't give them that opportunity. And pray for the people who run USMB - they have given society a tremendous forum to speak openly.

Another example of adults not understanding the power technology has put in our hands. It may have been a 'flesh wound' if it was just Reddit, but 4Chan destroys lives for funzies. CNN should have stayed away from the internet, they shouldn't have tried to shut down free speech, they should have been content to just spew their fake news to the 30-ish percent of people that still trust them, but now it's too late.
