Well hell, when the city council has a veto-proof majority that wants to disband the police dept, who in their right mind would stay if they have a choice? They'll have some kind of police alternative cuz their city charter requires it, but I shudder to think of what that might be. My guess is contracting out various aspects of public safety, but somebody has to arrest the bad guys and no matter who they work for the occasional misconduct is going to happen. I would imagine there could be a loss of good, experienced cops who will head for better places to raise a family. Along with a lot of business owners and the working class. I have no faith in the liberal progressives being able to turn their city around.
