When the democrats were defeated in the Civil War and forced to free their slaves.......they fought back against the republicans who freed the slaves by imposing a Poll Tax and Literacy test on voting...this was in order to keep the newly freed blacks from voting.....
Using the power to tax to keep people from exercising their rights is a tried and true tool of the democrats......and here they are doing it again...

Governor Dannel Malloy is facing a rather intimidating $3.6B deficit in Connecticut, but he thinks he knows how to fix it.
His plan, unfortunately, comes at the expense of those exercising their Second Amendment rights to bear arms. He intends to drastically raise the prices of concealed carry permits more than 420%, from $70 to $300. Also suggested was raising the “5-year pistol permit” fee from $140 to $370, or more than 250%
This is how democrats will try to deny people their 2nd Amendment rights....
This plan directly discriminates against low-income Americans who want to purchase and carry firearms for self-defense. Scott Wilson of the Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) noted that this is not the first time that prices have been raised.
