Consumer Price Index Up 7% From Last Year, The Largest Spike Since 1982

you are the one claiming to be upper class. typical socialist, vanguard of the proletariat bullshit.
I am now but until about 7 years ago I was one of you. Just because I don't have the same problems the middle class has doesn't mean suddenly I am going to be against helping the middle class. Even if that means I pay more taxes. Oh, and I didn't get the last stimulus check. You did though I bet. Notice I am not crying about helping you out?

Not even close. I make 180K, and in NYC that isn't even lower upper class, that's upper middle.

Unlike you I don't feel the need to pay for shit with other people's money through government fiat.

Are you being disingenuous, or are you really this fucking stupid?

Explain in greater detail your point.
When the issue is taxation every fucking one of you complain about the vast amount of taxes you supposedly pay. That means you make vast amounts of money. Now you are complaining about inflation as if it's taking food off your table. Which one is it? Do you make enough money to be in the upper tax brackets or is your income so marginal that even a modest price hike is a hardship? Can't have it both ways.

It's CNN of course it's BS

Don't you remember Trump said Obama's good economy was FAKE because interest rates were being kept artificially low? But then Trump got in and those rates stayed low.

Republican senator Tom Cotton has a completely different theory: He blames inflation on Donald Trump’s poor selection to lead the Federal Reserve.

And obviously, Cotton is not trying to blame Trump (whose name does not appear in his column). But, while anything Powell does in his second term will be on Biden, the reason Powell has the job in the first place is that Donald Trump appointed him.

Trump selected Powell in large part because he deemed his predecessor, Janet Yellen, too short to effectively handle monetary policy. Once in office, Powell was an inflation dove, leaving interest rates low in order to run the economy hot. Trump was constantly demanding Powell push interest rates even lower.

Is CNN wrong about this?

I happen to think Trump’s preference for low interest rates and a hot economy was correct. Cotton disagrees. But whatever your position on the merits of the Trump-Powell interest-rate regime, Cotton is telling us that inflation levels are Trump’s fault, not Biden’s.

It's funny how Conservatives do everything they can to stop government from interfering in the economy, yet they blame government (when the Dems are in power) for every economic downturn.

Which is it Cons?

Should the government have the power to manage the economy, and therefore be responsible for it?

Or should the government not be allowed to intervene in the economy, in which case the government is NOT responsible for the state of the economy?

I like how leftists pretend the inflation they created doesn’t disproportionately hurt the poor they falsely claim to protect.

Where are the howls of inflation inequality from you partisan hacks?

There's a lot of factors causing the inflation. As for rates using the logic rates were low under Trump and that caused it you can easily say it's Obama's fault as well.... except inflation didn't spike. So there is that

Because Occupied.....you cant have it both ways!!!!

We're very aware of 'Inflation inequality', which is why we promote increases in the minimum wage, and reducing wealth inequality.

Who here doesn't think if Trump were still POTUS the leftists in this thread would have a completely different view of inflation?

Disingenuous morons!!!!!!!!!!

You voted for this nonsense, OWN IT!!!!!!

I guess there aren't any Cons out there that want to even try to defend their hypocrisy!!!!

It's TEMPORARY......say the lying DEMS to their DUMB FUCKING BASE.

It's not TEMPORARY....you stupid assholes had better not buy the lies from Biden on this.

Just walk through the math. If prices go up 10% this year, and that increase goes down to 3% next year....PRICES ARE STILL UP 13%.

Please tell me that just because you hate freedom doesn't mean you cant do simple fucking math.
You dumb piece of shit there is almost always inflation. The only deflationary period we've had recently was briefly around 2008. Just shut the fuck up and let people with something more than your 6th grade education handle things, ok?

It's OK.

INFLATION IS GOOD!!

Thats what the Dims are selling you dumb fucks who actually believe their lies.

Hell, if 10% inflation is GOOD, 20% is better....and 100% would be AMAZING!!!

I pay. And when I was poorer, I never took but there were safety nets in place should I have needed them.

Posting and then claiming "no one will challenge me" in a 10 minute span is bush league.

And your binary question is as usual argumentum ad absurdum.

Nah, you let richer people pay the bulk and just donate the bare minimum to the government so you can feel better about yourself.

Xiden promised nothing but death and illness this winter....well he and the Demafascist in Washington delivered...literally, and figuratively....literally with the record number of Xiden variant deaths, and figuratively with Americans pocket books....

If you want to be sick and poor...vote for a Dem

Trump should have followed his own advice. He should have put in a Federal Reserve Chairman who had the balls to jack up interest rates. But what trump says and does are two different things. And you don't notice.

By cutting taxes for individuals and businesses, Trump hoped to foster a more robust economic expansion. But the economy was already running full steam, and an increase in spending spurred by tax cuts just increased inflation.
