Some songwriters may craft terrific songs, but may not be great performers. Bob Dylan comes to mind - great songs, terrible singer. Jimi Hendrix took this song from Dylan to a whole new level.

I am going to be shot down for this, but this is the best version of Hallelujah. Great idea for a thread by the way.

I love to hear my most favorite singer James Otto cover the following songs. :) :) :)

"Ramblin' Man"-The Allman Brothers
"They Call Me The Breeze"-Lynard Skynard
"Into The Mystic"-Van Morrison
"Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit Has Done Got Out Of Hand?"-Waylon Jennings

God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)

P.S. James covered them songs for one movie soundtrack and three musical tribute compilations. :) :) :)

Actually, "They Call Me The Breeze" is a good example of a cover song. J.J. Cale penned the original.

^^^ James covered that song for the first film that Larry the Cable Guy did. Its actually the song that gets the film started. :) :) :)

God bless you and Larry and James always!!! :) :) :)
