CPAC: Speaker pledges end of American democracy to wild applause.

Colorado and Maine aren't taking away people's right to vote.
There's your problem Marener. You lack the integrity to admit your party is trying to disenfranchise tens of millions of Trump voters and instead play these stupid little word games like "taking away people's right to vote."

Do you think you have the right to vote for anyone you want?

it's reality, something your side has taken a vacation from.
You morons will apply that label to someone who votes 90% with the party and fails to adhere to your strict ideology on one position.

It's an excuse.

You're trying to run from the reality of what a bipartisan commission is.

Not to mention you're trying to run from the reality of the corrupt Ohio republicans.

Why are they corrupt? because they won't knuckle under right away to Progressive bullshit?

Of course you don't. You never have. You can only vote for people who are eligible for the office.

Determining the eligibility of a candidate is not disenfranchising anyone.

Disenfranchisement means that you've taken away their vote entirely. Like when Trump tried to get a few states to take away the people's vote for president in 2020 and replace the electors with people chosen by the state representatives. That's actual disenfranchisment.

They refused to follow the constitutional requirement to redistrict fairly in order to maintain their political power.

We are a Republic. The word democracy is not in the Constitution.

We are a representative Republic.

These "democratic institutions" are?

It is the left that hates the Constitution, so your projection is natural for your ilk.
WE have been using the the word DEMOCRACY since the formation of our country.
Now Your political power play is to turn AMERICA into a THEOCRACY.
SO I ask you be honest is that your intent?

They refused to follow the constitutional requirement to redistrict fairly in order to maintain their political power.

What constitutional requirement?

"fairly" is a word with no legal backing. it's far too subjective to be binding on anything.

Salvador got rid of non compliant judges. The citizens love the guy.

Well, thanks for admitting you didn't read my link. Lazy asshole.

It was a constitutional amendment passed in 2021. There are numerous sections. 11.6 says this:
The Ohio redistricting commission shall attempt to draw a general assembly district plan that meets all of the following standards:

(A) No general assembly district plan shall be drawn primarily to favor or disfavor a political party.

(B) The statewide proportion of districts whose voters, based on statewide state and federal partisan general election results during the last ten years, favor each political party shall correspond closely to the statewide preferences of the voters of Ohio.

(C) General assembly districts shall be compact.

Nothing in this section permits the commission to violate the district standards described in Section 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 of this article.
